Zwei: Innocuous is a point-and-click narrative-based cinematic adventure game akin to some "interactive story" titles such as Until Dawn or the games produced by Telltale Games. Unlike the aforementioned narrative-based games, Zwei: Innocuous focuses on three individuals, which run concurrently to one another and the choices in one affect the events of the others.

Zwei: Innocuous takes place in the year 1991, in an alternate reality where the second World War never ended after the Nazi Operation Barbarossa ended in their success. The Axis forces looked toward the occult to improve their chances of victory over the Allies, and performed various experiments on human test subjects. The three main protagonists, known only by their subject numbers ("Ein", "Zwei", and "Drei"), are the sole survivors of the initial experiments conducted on them during the 1970's, who are forced to relive their experiences as they are interrogated by a group of soldiers.
