Yoshi (ヨッシー, Yoshi) returns as a playable character in Super Smash Bros. V. He was confirmed along with Link, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Fox, Kirby, Samus, and Inkling in the Official SSBV trailer + Inkling Reveal Trailer shown at E3 in 2018. His appearance is pretty much the same.

Yoshi’s alternate costume has yet to be revealed.

Yoshi is once again voiced by Kazami Totaka.

Aesthetics

Like every other veteran, Yoshi now appears much more vibrant and his appearance is more based off its appearance in its games with a small realistic touch.

Neutral Special Egg Lay 7% Yoshi swallows the foe and turns them into an egg.
Alternate 1 Lick 10% Yoshi pokes the enemy with his tongue, similar to how it operated in The Subspace Emissary.
Alternate 2 Egg Launch 10% Yoshi pokes the enemy with his tongue, similar to how it operated in The Subspace Emissary.
Side Special Egg Roll 4% (base), more with speed Yoshi eggs himself and rolls around. While he can jump, the move does no damage unless grounded.
Alternate 1 Heavy Egg Roll 4% (base), more with speed Yoshi eggs himself and rolls around. While he can jump, the move does no damage unless grounded.
Alternate 2 Light Egg Roll 4% (base), more with speed Considerably stronger and faster, but bounces once and breaks on the second bounce.

Alternate 2 Crushing Bomb 5% (hop), 18% (drop) Much more power, but slower and produces no stars.
Final Smash Ultra Sword 3% (contact), 6%/4%/3% (fire breath), 18%/14%/12% (fireball) Yoshi sprouts wings and shoots fire.

Animations and Misc.

Taunts

SIDE - Chases his tail in circles, then lifts up an arm as he finishes.

UP - Dances around in a circle, chanting "Yoshi!" as he finishes.

DOWN - Yoshi faces the camera and jumps up and down whilst chanting.

Character Selection Screen Animation

Yoshi is seen looking from side to side.

On Screen Appearance

Breaks out of a Yoshi egg. The color of the Yoshi will determine the color of the spots on the egg.

Victory Animations

Punches the air, then makes a "ta-da" pose.

Looks up at the sky with his hands together, spins once, and gives the V sign.

Angrily, he punches a few times, and then turns his back on the screen facing right.

Losing Animation

Yoshi is seen clapping

Victory Theme

This flourish is a combination of two small music excerpts from Yoshi's Story. The first is a sped-up, orchestrated cover of the title music of Yoshi's Story, while the other is the short flourish that plays when Yoshi collects all 30 necessary fruits and completes a level.
