Yoshi returns yet again to the Super Smash Bros. franchise in Super Smash Bros 5. Yoshi plays mostly the same as he did in the previous Smash Bros game with a few slight changes. Yoshi’s appearance in this game now more closely resembles his recent appearances in Mario titles.
Changes from Smash 4
Eggs do slightly more damage
Yoshi’s speed has been increased
Specials and Final Smash
Yoshi swallows the foe and turns them into an egg.
Egg Launch- The egg Yoshi lays is fired backwards, but is easier to break out of.
Yoshi eggs himself and rolls around. While he can jump, the move does no damage unless grounded.
Giant Egg Roll – Yoshi turns into a giant egg which is slower and more powerful.
Throws an egg in a controllable parabolic arc.
High Jump - Increases the height gained, but does not throw eggs.
Yoshi plummets downwards, producing stars when he lands.
Egg Bomb – A weaker attack but instead of producing stars two small eggs fly out to the sides
