Yoshi's Island 2 (tentitive title) is a upcoming Yoshi game. Like most Yoshi games, it takes place in the past. It is being created by Fantendo in coroporation with Third Party Developer WiiSmarts Inc. Wiismarts Inc. hasn't revealed any infomation on the platforms.

As Baby Bowser and Kamek deside to start trouble, several babies are relaxing with the Yoshis. Kamek manages to kidnap Baby Peach, Baby Wario, Baby Donkey Kong, Baby Waluigi, Baby Luigi, and Baby Toad. Yoshi and Baby Mario then go off to save all of them.
Later on, Baby Mario saves Baby Luigi, who rides a Birdo. Then they save Baby Toad and he get's on a Rex. They also save Baby Wario, who rides Boshi. Baby Donkey Kong says he doesn't want to recue the princess and actually fights Baby Mario to get him to leave him alone. They also save Baby Waluigi, who doesn't go with them.

The graphics are very similliar to Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island DS. It is done in the pen and pencil style of them.

The game was originaly intented to be a 2d sidescroller with 3d graphics, with graphics remarkably similiar to both Super Smash Bros. and Yoshi's Story. Although never confirmed why a new derection was taken, it seems likely that the creators were worried about steriotyping from fans who disliked Yoshi's Story.

Following in the footsteps of it's predicessers, Yoshi's Island 2 fetures gameplay unlike most Mario series games. It involves collecting eggs to shot at various things, and licking and eating opponents.
