Ymirn (yuh-me-urn) is an ice-covered planet inhabited by very thick amounts of ice and snow located within the New Fantendoverse. Known to be once protected by the United Galactic Confederation, the planet was bought by the intergalactic billionaire and boot manufacturer Tyyrian Shim, setting it up as the place of operations for his business and the location for his large elegant mansion. The planet was first mentioned and appeared in the Black Sun film.

History[]

Ymirn was blinked into existence at the beginning of time, along with most other planets. However, in stark contrast to how it is today, the planet was originally a diverse mass of land with grass, deserts, large clear oceans, and so much more. It was only 65 million years ago when a similar event akin to Earth's dinosaur extinction happened to Ymirn, where a somewhat smaller asteroid crashed into the planet and caused most, if not all of the wildlife, to perish. But whereas Earth recovered and had all of it's land recover along with it, a "nuclear winter" happened on Ymirn, resulting in permanent snow and ice to cover the land. Life did come back, along with Ymirian's, a group of intelligent polar-bear like humanoids that call this frozen ball of rock their home.

Millions of years later, billionaire and business tycoon Tyyrian Shim settled down on Ymirn. Being a rich man and not knowing what to do with his money, he bought out the right to live on the planet. He them set up a factory on the planet, making it the biggest factory in the business's history. In addition, he ordered construction works to build him a large elegant mansion on top of one of Ymirn's many mountains. In order to save money on hiring employees, Tyyrian then enslaved many of the local Ymirians and forced them to work in his business against their will. However, Tyyrian constantly pays big news and media outlets to ignore what he's doing, covering up what he's really doing down on the planet.

Overview[]

Ymirn is a frostbitten planet, filled to the brim with seemingly endless amounts of snow and ice. Each and every lake is covered by a layer of ice and where green grass should be rests only white, powder-like snow. Alien trees inhabit large patches of the land, leaves turned white by the bitter cold. What little wildlife can survive in temperatures like that is there, although scientists barely know a fraction of the planet's wildlife, as a large percentage of it is buried under layers of ice in the oceans below. The planet is also littered with both smooth and rocky mountains, which have been there for longer than anyone knows.

Tyyrian's mansion is described by the few who have seen it as "a combination of Earth and alien architecture, the likes of which have never been seen". The outside is a mixture of both, with wood engraved with alien markings making up the outside along with a roof that follows that same kind of patterns. The mansion rests atop of one of Ymirn's many mountains, a warm glow emanating from it at all times. Directly behind the mansion is where Tyyrian "employs workers", complete with small igloo-like huts made for them to live and sleep in. The mansion stands taller than most things on the planet, only being upstaged by a few tall mountains and even some trees.

Trivia[]

  • The planet is loosely based off frozen planets like Hoth from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Shiverstar from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
  • The mansion Tyyrian inhabits is inspired by not only alien architecture, but also popular fictional mansions like Wayne Manor from the Batman universe and Disney's very own Haunted Mansion.
  • The planet itself is named after the Norse god of ice, Ymir.
