“Mario is donning his classic demolition clothes from his short-lived Wrecking Crew job, ready to wreck the competition.”
“Foreman Spike is Wrecking Mario's alt. He is a grumpy demolition foreman that tried to sabotage Mario during his duties.”
Wrecking Mario is the first downloadable character in Super Smash Bros. Zenith. Essentially, this is Mario as he appeared in Wrecking Crew, a forgotten NES game.
This is Wrecking Mario's first appearance in a Super Smash Bros. game. Unlike Dr. Mario, Wrecking Mario represents his own series.
Foreman Spike is an alternate choice for Wrecking Mario. This grumpy foreman is Mario's rival for Wrecking Crew, and only has made a few appearances since.

Special Moves[]
Move | Name | Description | |
---|---|---|---|
Neutral Special Move | Default | Wall Attack | Wrecking Mario makes a brick wall appear out of nowhere, which hits opponents. Said wall can be attacked twice before it breaks by using the Special Button. Each time the wall is attacked by Wrecking Mario, the wall releases debris that can hurt the opponents, but it won't release anything when the opponents hit it. |
Custom 1 | Sturdy Wall Attack | Wrecking Mario makes a dark gray brick wall appear out of nowhere. The wall and its debris give more damage, are heavier and take three hits before it breaks, but Wrecking Mario can also get hurt by it. | |
Custom 2 | Quick Wall Attack | Wrecking Mario makes a weaker wall appear out of nowhere. This wall and its debris are much weaker, but they can be spawned up to three times in a row and appear very quickly. | |
Custom 3 | Drum Attack | Wrecking Mario makes an oil drum appear out of nowhere, which temporarily traps opponents. Wrecking Mario cannot break oil drums, but he can attack trapped opponents through it. | |
Side Special Move | Default | Hammer Spin | Wrecking Mario Spins with his hammer. This move can be charged to last longer. |
Custom 1 | Fiery Hammer Spin | Wrecking Mario's hammer will give out fire, causing more damage. However, long charges also hurt Wrecking Mario. | |
Custom 2 | Flying Hammer Spin | This variation sends Wrecking Mario upwards when he spins. | |
Custom 3 | Fireball Spin | Wrecking Mario launches a fireball when spinning with his hammer. Charging up causes the fireball to grow bigger instead of lengthening the spin's duration. | |
Up Special Move | Default | Ladder Wall | Wrecking Mario climbs up a long ladder, which breaks after usage. |
Custom 1 | Ladder Wall Tandem | Wrecking Mario can use this move twice, but the ladders are shortened. | |
Custom 2 | Falling Ladder Wall | The Ladder Wall no longer defies the laws of gravity, as it falls down and breaks onto opponents. In trade, Wrecking Mario won't reach very far. | |
Custom 3 | Ladder Tether | A regular ladder is used, which can be used as tether recovery when it hits an edge. | |
Down Special Move | Default | Wrecking Bomb | Mario makes a bomb appear, stand and all. The bomb explodes by itself, but it can be detonated earlier when it's attacked. |
Custom 1 | Rolling Bomb | Wrecking Mario rolls the bomb onto his opponents. | |
Custom 2 | Lobbed Bomb | Wrecking Mario throws the bomb in an arch. The bomb makes a small explosion on contact. | |
Custom 3 | Meteor Bomb | The bomb explodes on direct contact, but instead of a regular explosion, its explosion causes a Meteor Smash. | |
Final Smash | Default | Golden Hammer | Wrecking Mario gets a special Golden Hammer, which he can double jump with. The other effects are the same as a regular Golden Hammer. |
Custom | Giant Wall Break | Wrecking Mario traps his opponents in an enormous brick wall, which he breaks with a ginormous hammer. This causes trapped opponents to be launched far off the stage. |
