The Wii U is a brand new home console that came out in late 2012 by Nintendo. It introduces brand new games to play with it's new tablet-like controller. You can play with or without the TV on with the new system. The controller also acts as a handheld for playing Wii U games, which is a nice bonus. The Wii U can play both the new titles and all Wii games in the library; unfortunately, Nintendo Gamecube games are not compatible. It was announced at E3 2011 and was released on November 18th 2012 for the US, the 30th for Europe and Australia and December 8th in Japan.
