Somewhere in Las Vegas, NV
9:00 A.M. (Pacific Standard Time)
Gerald knocked on the door of a suburban household. A woman answered the door.
"Jerry...?" She asked, very shocked to see Gerald in the doorway.
"You've got to leave, Anna. Very bad people are coming to take our son away."
"What would they want with Evell? Why should I believe anything you say after putting me and him through what you did?!"
Evell came to the door.
"Mom, who is...Dad? What are you doing here?"
"Hello, Evell. You and Mom need to leave temporarily. There are people who are coming to take you away because of that video you released."
"What video?" Anna asked, looking back and forth between Evell and Gerald. "Now you're blaming your own so-"
"He's telling the truth, Mom." Evell admitted. "A video I got from my trips into the past through another reality, remember I told you? It leaked out a while ago under some account. I couldn't get it removed and now someone who isn't supposed to have it does. Right, Dad?"
"You're correct. And they know exactly where you are, which is why you have to leave the state. They are only are authorized to track you until you leave your current state of residence."
"And where do we go, Jerry? Where?!" Anna asked, growing angry.
"Anywhere. Find a hotel. Stay away until I call you. Take what you need. Evell, take your computer. They might go through the house for it if I can't hold them off."
Reluctantly, Evell and Anna went back inside to pack their things. Taking about an hour, they drove off around 10:00 A.M. Gerald stayed behind to wait for Mikul inside the house.
"You've really made a new life for yourself..." Gerald said regarding Anna, as he looked around the house.
Somewhere in Las Vegas, NV
"This is it. 5158 Sandstone Drive." Mikul said, parking the car on the side of the road. Dontori was first to get out, from the passenger side. Mikul took his gun from the glove compartment and got out.
"A gun? What do you think he's going to do?" Dontori asked.
"Be prepared always, Dontori. Be prepared..." Mikul replied.
Gerald heard a knock on the door.
"This is the police. We have a warrant to question your son."
Gerald opened the door. Earlier he found a large hooded sweatshirt and a standard mask that covered his mouth and nose to conceal his identity.
"Is there a problem?" Gerald said, his voice muffled.
"Jeez, who does this guy live with?" Dontori said quietly to Mikul, who responded with a snappy "Shut up!"
"Not exactly, sir. We just need to see your son."
"Do I look like an idiot to you guys?" Gerald asked in reply.
"You look crazy, is what you look like." Dontori said under his breath, unheard.
"You're not in uniform. Your stances are completely unprofessional. Where are your badges even?" Gerald asked, knowing full well they were not the police.
Mikul raised the gun. "Alright, enough! Inside!!" Gerald backed up as Mikul and Dontori forced their way in.
Dontori looked around, listened for any noise in the house. "I don't think he's here, Mikul!" Mikul, gun still raised to Gerald's head, grew angry.
"Where...is...your...son?!" He asked firmly. Gerald did not speak.
"You won't answer? Well, then, what a protective parent you are." Gerald heard the gun click. Mikul was about to shoot.
Almost instantly, his arms shot out and grabbed Mikul. Gerald closed his eyes shut and a burning pain coursed through Mikul's body. He screamed in pain, dropped the gun, and stumbled back.
"Shit, man, who the hell are you?" Mikul asked in agony. Gerald picked up the gun, and took off his "disguise."
"I'm Evell's father. He's not here at the moment. Please leave a message from the afterlife." Gerald replied.
Driving to the Peace Key City Standard High School
"You've gotten everything you need together?" Vincent asked Adam, who was sitting in the passenger seat.
"Yeah, now let's get Dyllan and Allison and explain our plan, before Mikul gets what he wants."
"What if he's already gotten that?"
"...I prefer not to think that way."
Vincent's phone rang. It was a call from the school. The call automatically came over the car's speakers.
This is an announcement from the Peace Key School District. At this time, Peace Key Standard High is in lockdown due to an armed intruder. Please do not be alarm-"
Vincent ended the call and began to speed. Adam looked at him.
"Looks like we need to get their faster!!" He said, as the car zoomed past others on the city road.
Peace Key City Standard High School
12:07 P.M. (an hour and 1/2 earlier than Mikul vs. Gerald)
Dyllan and Allison stood in the center of the school's first floor. The spacious central point of all the main hallways and the school in general, it had the official school team insignia painted on the floor. The man who called the two light children stood across from them. He was a well-built, tall African-American man, who looked to be in his mid-20s. His shaved head was covered with the hood of his large, armed-looking navy blue jacket. He also wore camouflage pants and dark black boots.
"I called fo' three...y'all got another one somewhere..." The man said to Dyllan and Allison, looking annoyed.
"N-No sir, we're the only ones you want that go here." Dyllan replied nervously.
"You lyin' to me, son? I can always tell when someone is lyin' to me..." The man threatened, but just as quickly, he looked pleased. Dyllan was apparently telling the truth.
"Alright..." The man began. "So y'all got light powers then?" Dyllan and Allison nodded.
"Good. 'Cause I've been lookin' far too long for somethin' to ease this desire for power, and finally I've got two I can take...I hope y'all can do great things!"
Dyllan and Allison looked at each other in fear, as the man began to utter a sinister laugh.
