The Villager is the generic name of the avatar character from the entirety of the Animal Crossing series; he was playable in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, and once again returns as a starting character in Super Smash Bros. Supernova, retaining much of his moveset from the previous game with minor adjustments.
