This is a new sort of series I will make.I will pick 6 characters (However, if I do a smaller series like Kid Icarus or Kirby I might have to limit that number to, let's say about 4) that represent a series or category and briefly judge their likeleness and moveset potential to get in. Let's begin with Mario characters!
Contender 1: Toad []
(sigh) While I am personally against Toad being in SSB4, it is definatly in the realm of possibility. He could use power ups from the New Super Mario Bros games maybe (imagine his Up B being the propeller hat from NSMBW!) and his pallette swaps would be obvious. He has been there since the begining (albeit for the worse, as he was just there as an excuse to make the game longer.) and has been a very popular character.
Contender 2: Bowser Jr. []
A likely choice, he has plenty of moveset potential and is a good candidate for a new Smash game. I just don't think he will use his paintbrush, since it was only in, like one game. He would indefinatly share some moves with Bowser, but he could also throw Bob-ombs and Koopa Shells. He has great potential if you ask me.
Contender 3: Paper Mario[]
Paper Mario does have potential for SSB4 moveset, as he had many adventures on some of Nintendo's greatest consoles, such as the N64,Gamecube,Wii, and most recently the 3DS. Maybe he could use his hammer for his smash attack and maybe include his sidekicks. And best of all, he could bring in some kick-ass bosses from his games, like the Shadow Queen and Dimentio. I'm sorry, but I just don't know enough about Paper Mario to create a full fledged moveset for him.

Contender 4: Waluigi[]
No.
No. Seriously. I won't analyse him.
FREAKING NO!
Ok fine, I will analyse him. Waluigi is just dumb. Sure, he could work in Smash Bros, but he is such an insignificant character that is such a dumb idea. I admit he has moveset potential, but like Toad, he is just an annoying character. While Waluigi is quirky and COULD fit, just please, no.
Contender 5: Rosalina[]
You knew this was coming. Rosalina would have an awesome moveset based on magic, because she pretty much looks like a magic user. Maybe Lubba or those Star Rabbit things could aid her in a special move. For a final smash? Either Luma swarm or something that has to do with a comet falling down. Plus, we need more females. I have been advocating for Rosalina as the next Mario rep for a LONG time, as she appeared in a bunch of popular wii games (well, I know only 3, but still.) and if they can put Jigglypuff in, they can certainly put this mistress of the cosmos in.

- Rosalina was memorable What character combines these traits.... someone who has a huge fanbase (Who's name ISN'T Geno.) ....someone who is wierd and epic at the same time. Someone.... WHO HAS FURY!!!!
Final Contender: Fawful[]
Fawful would be great. He could use unique and quirky moves like maybe chucking a mushroom at your opponent that would make you inflate and not be able to move for a short period of time, like the Blorbs in Bowser's Inside Story. Oh and his taunt could be his crazy laugh of his. While Rosalina is my ideal Mario rep, Fawful has lots of potential, and would be a welcome guest for SSB4.
