Ultra Mario Galaxy 2 is a 2012 action-adventure platformer videogame released for the Wii U console. It was released in December 1, 2012 for United States, December 2, 2012 for United Kingdom, December 3, 2012 for Australia, and December 12, 2012 for Japan. This videogame was developed by Adricorp Company and published by Fantendo. Ultra Mario Galaxy 2 is the sequel to Ultra Mario Galaxy and the second installment of Ultra Mario Galaxy series. The second part of the trilogy has different main antagonist, being Gargante, who was created by Dry Bowser in order to avenge Mushroom Kingdom. A sequel, titled Ultra Mario Galaxy 3, was released on March 24, 2014. The levels are mainly galaxy filled with planets. The game utilizes gravity effects in most parts.
Elements introduced in Ultra Mario Galaxy 2 are Waluigi as a playable character, and the minigames mode. Many Mario fans are interested at Waluigi as a playable character.
Few months later, after the events of bros. defeating Dry Bowser who kidnapped Peach, they are now in peace during the vacation inside the Coconut Mall. Suddenly, a small part of roof fell in escalator and injures a toad. After that, a giant spider fell from the roof and escapes the mall then went to Mushroom Kingdom to steal power stars from it. The stars including the giant one was stolen to new galaxies altrough the bros. and Peach have'nt discovered it yet.
After the power stars was stolen, the Mushroom Kingdom became dark and sunless and many people in Mushroom Kingdom were threatened. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Luma and Lubba returned to kingdom and adventured again to recover the power stars to make Mushroom Kingdom bright and shine again. Many toads and lumas were scared and became afraid.
Starting their second adventure, they have to find power stars and revenge the giant spider named Gargante who stole their power stars.
After entering the Gargante's Giant Cave, they were finding a way to beat the giant Gargante. During their battle, they use a shotgun to kill him. After defeating Gargante, a giant star appeared and Mario touched it. After that, they escaped the cave and drove the Starship Mario back to Mushroom Cave. Mario used the giant star to giant star statue.
After the action, the Mushroom Kingdom is now safe, bright and in peace. Toads and lumas became very happy again and praised Mario and Luigi as hero with Waluigi hiding around the trees. Peach, Luma and Lubba thanked Mario and Luigi. They aren't sure if Bowser is doomed.
Gameplay in Ultra Mario Galaxy 2 is somewhat similar to its predecessor, Ultra Mario Galaxy. There are 3 profile slots to save or load. It introduced Waluigi as an unlockable character. Starship Mario can be used to travel in other galaxies. There are new bosses to fight and defeat. Each playable character has a new health system. The player can punch enemies. The maximum starbits can be gained is 100. The player can change characters anytime they want but only appears at the start of each level. Each character except for Co-Star Luma has different stats. During player's adventure, he/she can access Peach's Castle at any time. It will have new enemies and bosses. There are 6 explorable worlds. There are a total of 250 stars in this game.
These are the new features in this game not found in Ultra Mario Galaxy:

- New bosses
- New mode: Minigames (The player can now access all minigames without on his/her adventure)
- New health system
- New stat system
- Better graphics, more intuitive gameplay and easier controls

- Most features in Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Ultra Mario Galaxy such as Spin Drill returning to this videogame that was absent in Ultra Mario Galaxy.
These features debuted on Ultra Mario Galaxy but doesn't return to this videogame:
- 110 stars were removed (360 stars is too boring)

|Spiny||Spinies are enemies which can't be stomped by the heroes but can be killed by star spins.|
|Koopa Troopa||The koopa troopas aren't aggressive and their shells can be stolen.|
|Piranha Plant||These guys are interested in eating the heroes.|
|Boo||These are enemies whose Luigi is afraid to. They can turn transparent if a hero looks to them.|
|Big Boo||Big Boos are bigger and brighter than normal boos.|
|Hammer Bro.||These guys are interested at throwing hammers to heroes.|
|Paratroopa||Same as koopa troopas, but with the wings on their back.|
|Magikoopa||Magikoopas are enemies which uses wands to combat the heroes.|
|Lakitu||Lakitus are cute koopas riding in the cloud.|
|Cheep-Cheep||These fishes can swim, and blow bubbles.|
|Wiggler||These guys are always rooming around.|
|Dry Bones||An undead version of koopa troopas.|
|Venus Fire Trap||These are piranha plants who toss fireballs at heroes.|
|Unagi||Unagis are enemies who live underwater, trying to bite heroes.|
|Bullet Bill||These are enemies who came from banzai bill.|
|Fishbone||Fishbones can patrol a hero if they saw them. Their eyes also turn red.|
|Cosmic Clone||A resemblance of Mario which are colored dark purple with gold eyes.|
|Baddie Box||This enemies toss goombas in sight of a hero.|
|Fuzzy||They are small black-furred creatures.|
|Chain Chomp||Chain Comps are chomps who are trapped with chain.|
|Chomp||Chomps are interested at jumping and biting the heroes.|
|Bully||Bullies, however do not harm heroes but pushes them instead.|
|Whomp||Whomps are large stone-type enemies who smashes Mario in contact.|
|Thwomp||Thwomps, unlike whomps, they go up and down with their spikes.|
|Shy Guy||Shy Guys are timid trouble makers who wear white mask.|
