Tyrunt, known in Japan as チゴラス (Chigoras) is a brown Rock/Dragon-type Pokémon. Tyrunt is one of two families of Fossil Pokémon of Kalos, and is revived via a Jaw Fossil. It evolves into Tyrantrum at day, similar to how Amaura evolves into Aurorus at night.
Biology
Tyrunt is a brown, juvenile, carnivorous dinosaurian. It has gigantic feet, small arms and a hunchback, as well as a short tail and a giant maw. It has large, black-rimmed eyes with oval black and white pupils. Its head is adorned with two orange, small fin-like scales and its neck is covered with a spiky, feathered collar. Another orange scale is seen on its tail. Its mandible is gray as so is its belly.
Tyrunt has been restored from a fossil that is at least 100 million years old. When something happens that Tyrunt isn't fond off, it throws a tantrum and runs off, lileky wrecking stuff up in the process. Its jaws are powerful enough to chew up a car.
Trivia
Origin
Tyrunt appears to be based on a juvenile Tyrannosaurus, but it also shares some traits with a Gorgosaurus. Its behavior is reminiscent of a spoiled prince in fiction.
Name Origin
Tyrunt is a combination of Tyrannosaurus, tyrant and runt.
Chigoras might be a combination of 稚児 chigo (baby) and Tyrannosaurus, but may also derive from 小さい chisai (little) or ちび chibi (runt)
