Timid Guy is an ally of Mario in Super Mario Excursion. This Shy Guy seeks to abandon his villainous ways and find a place for himself as a hero.
Personality[]
Timid Guy, like all Shy Guys, is extremely introverted. He's often afraid of socializing with others, and often keeps to himself. Yet, he will speak up in large gatherings and isn't afraid to make a point.
As someone who's served Bowser for some time, Timid Guy has been through countless conflicts and battles, and hated every one. He can't stand being seen as a villain. He also has quite a bit of skill with machines.
History[]
Early Life[]
Timothy "Timid" Doki was conscripted into the Koopa Troop's military from a young age, placed into the engineering division. There, he'd be in charge of operating mechanical weaponry like Bill Blasters and Rocket Engines. He found himself disgusted by the violent capabilities of these weapons, but had no choice but to serve Bowser.
Super Mario Excursion[]
Timid Guy was present during the attack on Toad Town, firing one of the cannons that would destroy Peach's castle. Yet, he felt angry with himself by witnessing Bowser defeating Mario, and sought to do something.
Four months later, Timid Guy deserted the Koopa Empire's military and joined up with Mario and the Toad Town resistance movement.
Super Princess Peach: The Dark Heart[]
Timid Guy has a cameo in Super Princess Peach: The Dark Heart. He appears in the fourth level of every world and will give Peach a Music Disc when sighted. He'll then part ways with Peach to be a hero elsewhere.
The Rescue Squad: Birthday Blitz[]
Timid Guy makes another appearance in The Rescue Squad: Birthday Blitz, often found aboard the Underworld Express. In this game, he is found being locked out of his room, struggling to open the door. The player can open it by kicking it down with a punch, allowing Timid Guy access to his room. A Party Star can then be found in the drawer.
Super Mario Spikers[]
Timid Guy makes a playable appearance in Super Mario Spikers, appearing as a Power-type captain. His outfit is not that different from his traditional robes, though his helmet does have red feathers on it and his cape is yellow, referencing Cape Mario from Super Mario World. In addition, he rides an Autobomb for the entire duration of the match, which allows him to prowl through opponents and shoot streams of fire. His emblem is his mask and helmet, and his theme is Downtempo.
Paper Mario: Double-Sided[]
Timid Guy plays a major role in Paper Mario: Double-Sided, within Peach's intermissions. He helps contact Luigi alongside L.K. and Trumbone when Mario is revealed to have gone missing.
Super Mario Expedition[]
Timid Guy reappears as a character in Super Mario Expedition, often found getting stuck in sticky situations throughout the Kaliente Kingdom. When rescued, he gives Mario a Sun Gem.

- Timid Guy's last name, Doki, is a reference to the debut game of the Shy Guys, Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic, which would later become the American version of Super Mario Bros. 2.
- The Autobomb Timid Guy uses is said to have been used in battles he fought in while he was still apart of Bowser's army.
