The Legend of Zelda is a 3D CGI animated film directed and written by PrimalFan. It is about a young Kokiri boy who is destined to save Hyrule. It released on January 18th, 2014. This film is based off of The Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time. It was released in 3D, Real D 3D, and IMAX 3D. This film is a part of the Nintendo Cinematic Universe.

Plot
The Great Deku Tree is seen talking to Navi. They are talking about a young boy named Link. Navi flies off to Link's house and awakens the kid. Link then finds out Navi is now his fairy and is given a task to go to the Great Deku Tree. Link obeys and pulls out a wooden shield from under his bed, walking out of his house.
Navi leads Link to a small pathway that takes to the Kokiri Sword. Link quickly runs through the maze, dodging the large boulder from behind. Link obtains the sword and finds his way out. As he leaves, Saria greets him. Link tells Saria all about Navi and his quest. He is walking out of Kokiri Forest when Mido stops him. Mido calls Link a wimp and then lets him pass.
The Great Deku Tree tells Link all about the Gerudo King of Thieves who tried to steal the Spiritual Stone but didn't get to. As a result, a death curse was placed on the tree. Link hurries and gains a fairy slingshot in the midst of a dungeon which he uses to defeat all of the enemies. The Deku Tree says it's too late and tells Link of the creation of Hyrule and the Triforce Ganondorf seeks. Link is told he must restore peace and faith to Hyrule, so he sets off to Hyrule Castle.
Link reveals he has a Spiritual Stone as he arrives in Hyrule Castle, greeting Princess Zelda. Princess Zelda was awaiting the green-clothed boy so they could stop Ganondorf. Link is sent on a quest to get the other two Spiritual Stones, a Goron's Ruby, a Zoroa's Sapphire, and open the Door of Time.
Travelling all over Hyrule to gain these items, Link returns to see Hyrule Castle Town in havoc. Zelda and her attendant, Impa, are running out of the castle as Ganondorf reveals he knew their plan all this time. Zelda vanishes as she throws the Orcarina of Time onto a muddy hill. The King of Thieves takes down Link and chases after Zelda and Impa. Link runs to the hill and grabs the Orcarina of Time, opening the door to the Sacred Realm with the Spiritual Stones and the famous Song of Time. Link grabs the Master Sword from it but is sealed in the Sacred Realm. Ganondorf touches the Triforce and uses it to take over Hyrule.
Seven years later, Raura, a Sage, helps Link to stop Ganondorf by awakening five other sages. Link transports to the Temple of Time as Sheik, a descendant of the Sheika, aids Link in awakening the sages. Link finally awakens all five sages as Sheik reveals 'he' is actually the Seventh Sage, Princess Zelda. The story of Ganondorf touching the Triforce is told, revealing he only has the Triforce of Power, Sheik has the Triforce of Wisdom, and Link has the Triforce of Courage. Link borrows some powerful Light Arrows from Zelda as Ganondorf kidnaps her and takes her to his castle.
The ultimate battle. Link slashes at Ganondorf who is taking the hits pretty well. Ganondorf starts to beat down Link, almost killing him. Link pulls out his Light Arrows and defeats Ganondorf, sealing him away in the Sacred Realm with the Seven Sages.
Post-Credits Scene
Loud thunderstorms are heard, a wave from the sea crashing over an island.

Production
In 2011, Nintendo had expressed interest in a Legend of Zelda movie. Universal Studios and Reel FX were quick to jump into this project. The story was based off of Orcarina of Time, giving a good base for possible sequels.
Reception and Legacy
In it's opening week, it had over 15 million dollars from 4,000~ theaters. The Legend of Zelda had critical acclaims, Rotten Tomatoes giving it a 89%, saying "If you're looking for a good game adaptation, then the Legend of Zelda is perfect. Of course, it follows the game almost strictly, and the people who have played it might get bored." on their site.
The legacy of the newly born "NCU" or Nintendo Cinematic Universe expanded after this, with sequels and new movies.
