The room is silent for a moment as the eleven sitting at the long wooden table take in what the recently departed Jake had said. Leah shakes her head, before turning to Ella with a crossed look o her face. "Is he always like this?" she asks the orange-haired girl, who replies only with a shrug. Hama however, decides to speak in her stead. "Dude's a fucking weirdo."
Umbra shrugs, though does not speak. He glances quickly at Mika Sho, who ignores him. Instead, she begins to speak: "We're all here because we want our wishes, and we agreed we'd kill to get them granted". She looks at all the faces. "Is that true for all of you?"
Taylor nods slowly, and he glances at a pale January. "Greedy. That's what we are." he says as he looks at the others in suspicion. "I don't know why I'd agree to kill someone to get it granted."
January looks down at her shaking hands. Her skin is pale as she thinks. "We can die." she says weakly, and Taylor casts a sad glance at her. He pats her on the back, and tries to keep her positive.
Umbra, who has been silent for most of the conversation, slowly speaks; his voice loud and fierce. "It doesn't matter if we're scared." he speaks monotonous, and earns a glance from a surprised Mika Sho. "Someone is planning to kill." Leah crosses her arms and leans forward. "I'm betting it's Jake."
On the subject of who's going to murder first, most people fall silent as the ones who manage to keep calm continue to converse. "Jake does seem... suspicious." Taylor remarks, and Hama agrees with "Try omitting the 'seem' part."
Ella stays silent, though one would be able to see the gears turning in her head just by looking at her eyes. She glances angrily at Taylor and Hama, though neither notice. Guaptain breaks down under the stress of the situation and begins to cry, and Ella looks at him sympathetically. "Whatever happens, only one of us will get out of here." she says, absent-minded. "Or, we could all just live here peacefully." She looks at the grandfather clock situated in the corner of the room. "Either way," Ella begins once more. "We should try and find somewhere to sleep."
Ella, Hama and Leah walk down a large corridor, looking for somewhere to sleep. "Any room should do." Hama says with her arms crossed. Her wings shake out, and Ella jumps back. Hama looks at her with a smile. "Never will get used to these, huh?"
Her only reply is a scowl.
Leah pushes a door open, leading to another hallway. "Over here." she calls to them, and the three slowly walk into the hallway. Twelve doors line a single wall, evenly spaced. At the end...
"Hello again." Jake says with a smile. He sits on a stool shrouded in shadow, a knife in his hand as he carves a piece of wood. Ella looks at it skeptically, and he just replies "arts and crafts" in a mocking tone.
Hama snaps at him, and she grabs his shirt, pulling him off the stool. "You have five fucking seconds to fucking explain yourself." Jake nods his head, before gesturing towards the doors. He says a single word, "bedrooms", before Hama shoves him against a wall. She walks over to one of the doors, and kicks it down. A large bed, suitable for two, a dresser and a washroom. She looks in the next room, and it's the same. Looking at Jake, she angrily scowls before loosening her expression. "You're off the hook now" she says as she walks into a room and slams the door.
Leah turns to Jake and praises him. "Good job, little weirdo."
Ella and Jake watch as Leah walks into another room and slams the door just as angrily as Hama had only a minute before. Ella stands up and turns to leave. Jake, confused, stands back up and stumbles behind her a step. "Where are you going?" he asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Gotta tell the others." she responds quickly. In her mind, Ella remarks that Jake is acting odd. Not himself.
"I'll come with you." he says, shoving the lump of wood into his pocket, but keeping the knife clutched in his right hand. "Something may have happened."
"Oh god." she whispers, not having thought of the possibility prior. "You're right. With the way most of them were scared, there's no guarantee that no one has killed yet."
Ella pushes the door open, but stands back. "Ladies first." he says with a smile. As she walks through the door, she flashes him a smile, though confusion still rests in her eyes. Is that really him?
Together they walk down the large spiral staircase that Hama, Leah and Ella had travelled up an hour before, before finding their way through the maze of corridors to end up in the dining room. "Something's wrong." Ella immediately says as they draw near.
"What do you mean?" Jake asks, gripping the short wood carving knife tighter in his hand. "The silence?"
Ella rushes the last few feet towards the door, and pushes it open. Her face pales as she sees what lay behind it. Where there were eight people sitting when she left, no life remains now. She walks into the room, and towards the large table. Jake pushes past her and shoves aside a chair or two. "No corpse. Disappointing, but at the same time..."
Mika Sho walks through a dark corridor on the opposite side of the castle. She, Umbra and Taylor split up to find the others after Guaptain snapped and went crazy, scaring the other off. The orange haired girl looks back and forth as she travels through the labyrinth. She soon comes across a small staircase that spirals deep into the ground. "I doubt anyone went down there." she says with a stammer. Nevertheless, Mika descends into the darkness that is the cellar.
When she reaches about halfway down the staircase, she stops. A rancid smell perfumes the air, poking at her eyes and nose. Her hands fly up quickly to cover her nose, though the smell protrudes her barrier. "What the hell is that smell." she whispers, and continues into the darkness.
Koloro watched as the others became scared, not even bothering to express her own feelings of fear. But now, stumbling through darkness, her head swirls. Her senses combine; smells, sights, sounds... Koloro's fear finally bubbles up and she screams.
A bloodcurdling scream.
A scream of death and despair.
