Tene is one of the two protagonists of BlackLight, alongside her brother Lux. She is the current Patron of Darkness, and works with the Order of Darkness to keep peace across the world of Solune and battle against the Order of Light. She is the main character of the game's Dark Story.
Personality[]
Tene is a reserved, intellectual woman, often times speaking to herself in her own mind than she does to others. She is a kind-hearted person, but ultimately more concerned with her own fate more than her brother and more open about whether or not she's truly scared of something. She is seen as more emotionally distant than the somewhat boisterous Lux, and has more of an intellectual air about her.
While Tene is less outwardly heroic than her brother, she possesses a sense of determination and pride that he doesn't. She is driven by an inner force that, even if she's openly scared of something, lets her know that she has to do it and gives her the strength to carry out the task.
Tene is incredibly attached to her brother, Lux, due to their shared upbringing, and often gets stressed from being away from him.
Backstory[]
Tene lived in Coriolis for the first 18 years of her life alongside her brother and father. Like Lux, she learned the ways of swordplay and nobility in their father Lord Neil's mission to make them into fine warriors and heroes. However, on the pair's shared 18th birthday, they got involved in a shipwreck when Neil's new boat somehow broke, and the two were swept away.
Tene was found in the water by members of the Order of Darkness and taken ashore to the city of Aurora. Once she was successfully nursed back to health, she remained with them for a short time to recuperate. During this timespan, agents of the Order of Light arrived to kill off the dark acolytes. When Tene successfully managed to fend off the attackers, the Order discovered she could possibly be the Patron of Darkness, destined to defeat the Order of Light for good.

- Tene's full name, Tenebra, is derived from tenebrae, which is both the Latin word for "shadows" and a Christian religious service involving the extinguishment of candles.
