Tatakai! (伝説の戦い, Densetsu no tatakai in Japan) is an author-appeal project (also known as the Elite Baby Waffles genre) by X-Scissor. It will feature characters from several manga/anime, Western cartoons, or video games. The gameplay of Tatakai! is extremely similar to that of the Super Smash Bros. series, with very few changes.
Tatakai! is to be released for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U sometime in 2013.

Gameplay

As stated before, the gameplay of Tatakai! is extremely similar to that of the Super Smash Bros. series. You fight on a 2D field, and battle with foes on that stage. You must make the percentage shown at the bottom of the screen of your foe go higher, and eventually launch them off the stage to gain Points, or for them to lose Stock. Your goal is to win the battle by having the most points, or being the last one standing in a Stock Match.
There is also a gauge at the bottom of the screen that slowly fills up as you fight. It is called the "Ki Gauge". Once it's fully charged, you can press the set button to release a Max Power attack, which is somewhat similar to that of a final smash in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
The game can be played on the Wii U with the GamePad, a Wii Remote vertically, a Wii Remote and Nunchuck, and the Wii Remote and Classic Controller. During matches, a player of the 3DS version may battle with a player of the Wii U version. When playing normally, you can have up to four players at once on both Wii U and 3DS versions. However, if you connect a 3DS and four players are already synced to the Wii U, you may battle with FIVE players.

- Training: Battle with a CPU in order to perfect your battling skills.
- Boss Battles: Battle all of the bosses in Story Mode in a row, getting only limited healing.
- Classic: Go through battles against characters from many different series.
- Group: Battle against CPUs or other players of Tatakai!.
- Wi-Fi Battle: Battle against friends from far away, or against random players from all over the world.
- Team Battle: Team up with other Players or the CPUs and battle.
- Special Battle: Put up special rules for a battle with many strange conditions.
- Tourney: Put together a small tournament to battle your way to the top.
- Vault: A bunch of extra things put in the game, like videos, snapshots, demos, and more.
- Videos: Watch different videos about gameplay or game series.
- Stage Creator: Create your very own stages to battle in.
- Snapshots: All of the snapshots taken while you battle.
- Replays: Videos of the battles you choose to save.
ClassicEdit
Classic mode is a group of battles put together, similar to the Classic mode in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The order of what type of battles you do are as follows:
- A battle with a Haruhi Suzumiya character.
- A battle with two random allies, against a powerful Madoka Magica character.
- A battle with one random ally, against two Azumanga Daioh characters.
- Your character's special Target Smash stage.
- A battle with a Team of one Soul Eater character.
- A battle against an My Little Pony character, with either the giant, invisible, or stamina status.
- A battle against Konata and Kagami & Tsukasa.
- A maze full of Pokémon characters.
- A battle with two random allies, against a giant Keroro, Tamama, or Kururu.
- A battle against Edward and Alphonse. Mustang is added in if unlocked.
- A "Bob-omb battle" against Sonic and Tails.
- Your character's special Race to the Finish! stage.
- A battle against metal Mario and Luigi.
- A battle against a Fantendo character, made much stronger, and having much more special attacks than normal.

Story ModeEdit
Story mode is somewhat similar to that of Super Smash Bros. Brawl's. But, unlike SSBB's, there is dialog in the story. The controls and gameplay are just like the gameplay during normal play. Also, unlike SSBB, when you recruit a character, they join your team permanently and all of the characters stay in one group. Before battles and stages, you select four characters from what is extremely similar to the character select stage. Like SSBB, story mode is playable cooperatively with two players.
Also, unlike SSBB's, getting the unlockable characters is optional, although it's not very hard to get them, because all you have to do is find them in the stage and defeat them in battle. Outside of battle and stages, there is an overworld map, showing your character. They get the options of: going to another location, going to the stage, battling the boss, or battling the unlockable character.
