Swirlix is a Fairy Pokémon introduced in Generation 6. It evolves into Slurpuff.
It also appears in the Super Smash Bros. games as a possible Poké-Ball Pokémon, a capacity it's appeared in since Smash 4.
Basic info[]
It's living cotton candy. Why was this chosen to be the basis of a Pokémon? Because in Australia, the stuff is known as "fairy floss", a term that apparently used to be used worldwide at one point.
It has a clear counterpart in Spritzee: both are version-exclusive Pokémon with the same typing, similar abilities, and similar methods of evolution.
