Swampert, known in Japan as ラグラージ (Laglarge), is a Water/Ground-type Pokémon. It evolves from Marshtomp at level 36 and is the final evolution of Mudkip. It forms a trio of final evolution starters with Sceptile and Blaziken, and is able to it can Mega Evolve into the bulky Mega Swampert when using an unknown Mega Stone.

  • Swampert has the least amount of weaknesses of all the official Starter Pokémon.
    • Despite this, Swampert and Marshtomp are the only official Starter Pokémon to have a 4× weakness against another starter type (in their case, Grass).
  • Swampert has the highest base stat total of all fully evolved starter Pokémon

Name Origin

Swampert is a combination of swamp and either rampart, expert, or inert.

Laglarge comes from lagoon and large. It may also come from lag, as in "lagging behind".
