Super Smash Bros Generations is a game developed by Zodiac Productions for the Super Smash Bros series. It is inspired by Sonic Generations, and allows you to play through levels from throughout the history of each franchise as all different Smash Bros characters.

Gameplay

At the level select, you can choose from all different levels (the levels are split up by franchise and game to make them easier to find), and then choose your character to play as. Once your character is chosen, you may choose a playstyle (as most characters will have multiple playstyles), and the controls will be explained there. Once a level has been completed at least once, it can be used as a stage for the Fight mode.

Characters

On release, there are 5 character to play as, but many will be added at a later date.

Close to the release of the game, a video was shown on a Nintendo Direct. It begins with Sonic chasing the Time Eater, before it disappears, leaving him outside of a colourless World 1-1, after completing it (showing clips of footage from 3D Sonic mode), he restores colour to parts of it, but looking around, no Classic Sonic is in sight. The perspective then switches to Mario, who is completing the level in 2D Mario mode. When he comes out, he is greeted by Sonic, and the two rush towards the screen to save more worlds. Then, footage of each of the characters in different levels, before showing the title, and the characters run past it.
