Super Smash Bros. Violet Sunset is an upcoming game for the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. It is the sixth and final game in the Super Smash Bros. hexalogy.

Gameplay

Following its predecessors, Super Smash Bros. Violet Sunset uses a battle system unlike that of typical fighting games. Players are able to select a variety of characters including many newcomers. Players then choose a wide range of stages to battle on. This game also includes many new items and Assist characters. Some characters also feature alternate costumes, which are alternate characters with different movesets and playstyles.

Gameplay Changes

  • There are now no more full clones in the default roster.
  • SSB Violet Sunset will have a faster pace than SSB4 and have more Melee-like physics.
  • Violet Sunset has better online stability.
  • New modes (Tag Battle, Tower of Smash and a new Story Mode).
  • Can now upload replays to YouTube, Facebook, etc.
  • Event matches return (30 solo and 15 co-op).

Steel Diver
Steel Diver
A smaller gun-like version of the Steel Diver from the self-titled game for the Nintendo 3DS. Fires a torpedo which travels slowly at first.
Power Glove
Gyromite
The Power Glove gives the character extra range on their physical hits. Jabs, Tilts, Aerials and Smash attacks are all affected. Their range is effectively doubled, shown by an 'energy’ version of the character’s hand/weapon extending beyond their normal range. However, attacks deal about one third less damage, and Forward Tilts and Forward Smashes become their 45 degree angle upward/downward varieties at random.
Flipper
Balloon Fight
Once thrown, halts in the air and bops characters that run into it.
Unira
Clu-Clu Land
Attaches to the stage once thrown or attacked and pokes opponents that come near. Can be set or reset with a direct attack; indirect ones do nothing.
Ring
Sonic the Hedgehog
Touching a ring that appears will prevent all damage on the next attack received (but not the knockback).
Drum Can
Metal Gear
The Drum Can is capable of being picked up, carried (with reduced speed) and thrown, but also serves as a sort of shield from weak attacks when the holder crouches. Additionally, it gives the holder a unique ability, allowing them to lay inside the drum and roll across the stage, dealing damage to those it steamrolls.
Omega Sword and Elk Shield
Soul Calibur
The Omega Sword and Elk Shield is Sophitia's main signature weapon. It focuses more on speed and close combat than distance or power. It alternates between sword and shield attacks.
