Captain Toad is an Unlockable Character in Super Smash Bros. Obliteration. The Leader of the fearless Toad Brigade has risen to the occasion in aiding Mario and his friends multiple times starting in Super Mario Galaxy. Captain Toad is easily recognized for his love of treasure, riches and his friend Toadette and would do anything to hand onto them, most recently confronting and defeating a giant bird who had kidnapped them from him. Captain Toad is ready to excavate up a surprise with his pickaxe, sure to wow spectators in a fight for the ages.

Attacks []

Type Name Damage Description
Neutral Mine Gear (3% = axe 1, 5% = axe 2, 2% = flash/stun, 10% = total). Two whacks with Captain Toad's pickaxe, followed by a flash of his headlight, This attack

has a very bright flash which stuns opponents for 3 seconds upon impact.

Forward Tilt Gem Thrust (8%) Shoves the Opponent Forward by Shoving them with a Gemstone
Up TIlt (9%) Swings his Pickaxe in an arcing Formation
Down Tilt (5%) Headbutts at Opponents while Crouching Downward
Forward Smash Shroom Head Smash (17% = Sweetspot, 12% = Sourspot)
Up Smash Hot Coal Axe (3% = hit 1, 7% = hit 2, 3% = burn, 13% = total). Charges up his pick axe which is heated up before swinging it upward at an opponent, this attack hits twice and deals burn damage.
Down Smash (10%) Smashes closer towards the ground by swinging a massive golden coin at an opponent, Has Medium range and low knockback.


Aerial Attacks []

Type Name Damage Description
Neutral (4% = hit 1, 5% = hit 2, 9% = total). Throws a pair of forward punches while airborne, short range based on Captain Toad's size,

but has decent knockback,

Forward (9%) Spears his pickaxe forward while airborne to damage opponents, has little knockback but long ending lag,
Back (10%) Swings a large gemstone backward and swings it to damage opponents while in the air,
Up Coin Stack (2% = per each coin hit, 12% = max damage if all coins hit). Captain Toad pulls out a stack of Coins (six, to be exact) from his backpack and tosses them upwards, They spread out a bit in midair, and the top one goes above Captain Toad,
Down Headlight Ram (6% = headlight, 9% = impact, 3% = shockwave, 18% = total). Tilts his head downward and rams the opponentto the ground with his miner headlight, this attack has

a shockwavewhich can damage adjacent opponents, this is Captain Toad's strongest aerial attack,

Floor Attack (Back) (5%) Same as front attack, just with less power.
Floor Attack (Trip) (6%) Swings pickaxe forward/back near the ground,
Ledge Attack (7%) Performs a Pickaxe Stab while Climbing Up.
Dash Attack (3% = hits 1-2 1.2% = loop, 10.2% = total). Spins his pickaxe in a fan formation while sprinting forward,

this attack has moderate knockback and deals loop damage,

Grabs/Throws []

Grab (N/A) Grabs an Opponent with the Grappling Hook.
Aerial Grab (5%) Grabs an Opponent in a Tether Like Formation in midair by slinging

the Grappling Hook Forward.

Pummel (1.8%) Slaps the opponent with a gold coin, a moderately fast pummel,
Forward (4% = Hit 1, 2% = Throw, 6% = Total) Picks up an opponent, holds them over his head, and then throws them a short distance.
Back (9% = hit 1, 3% = throw, 12% = total) Throws the opponent behind him in a corkscrew style throw and kicks them.
Up Ladder Smite (4% = ladder, 3% = throw, 7% = total). Chucks the opponent upward, then pulls out a ladder and strikes the opponent upward,

this attack had both long ending lag and large knockback,

Down Premature Burial (4% = bury, 8% = pluck, 3% = throw, 15% = total). Captain Toad buries the grabbed opponent with a shovel and plucks them like a sprout,

sending them high into the air! This takes a while depending on the opponent's size and weight, often KOing at around 120%, It is Captain Toad's most powerful throw,


Taunts[]

Up Taunt = Spins his pickaxe one handed like a spinning top in the air.

Side Taunt = Shouts "I love me some treasure, come get some" while facing forward and looking into the camera.

Down Taunt = Makes a bed of gold coins and sleeps on them.

Special Moves []

Neutral Special Super Mick Axe (26% = fully charged, 16% = half charged, 7% = explosion). Captain Toad's pickaxe glows a radiant gold as is is charged up and unleashed on opponents,

creating agold coin infused explosion, the attack does full and half charged damage, plus explosion damage it has high ending lag and high knockback when fully charged,

Side Special Mine Cart Dash (8% = forward hit, 10% = backward hit, 18% = total). Hops in a minecart that appears in frontof him and charges forward at full speed moving both forward and

backward, Ramming into opponents will deal 18% of damage and great knockback, KOing at 100%,the minecart still falls at Captain Toad's regular falling speed, and it can't be used again without landing, on the main surface of the arena, This move is slower but is a more powerful version of Daisy's Daisy Kart.

Up Special Propellor Box (4%) Activates a propellor box similar to Diddy Kong'sRocketbarrel Boost, in order to gein vertical support and

ascend upwardamong platforms, this move has a hovering effect and can last for 5 seconds in the air, as long as the control stick is continuously tilted upward within those 5 seconds

Down Special Head Lamp (2% = Stuns Opponents) Captain Toad flashes his headlight in opponents faces, automatically stunning any opponents within 15 feet of the

flash, this attack is similar to the headlight part of Captain Toad's neutral attack but has longer range.


Final Smash []

Type Name Damage Description
Final Smash Mine Cart Mania (KO) (100% = lava, 10% = knockback, 110% = total). Captain Toad knocks an opponent out cold then asks "Want to go for a ride", as the opponent is whisked away into an animationwhere they are sent flying down unstable tracks on a runaway minecart, the cart then flies off a gap of broken tracks into molten hot lava, burning the opponent alive and sending them flying off the stage, instantly Ko'ing them.
