Super Smash Bros GX is a fighting game developped by Sora Ltd and Chronicles Studios and edited by Nintendo for the NX and the next generation handbells, the Lightning X in 2017. This game is the fifth instalment of the Smash Brothers series and the first for the NX. While this game keeps the same gameplay as his predecessors like Super Smash Bros for 3DS/Wii U, Super Smash Bros Brawl or Super Smash Bros Melee, he brings it's own new, like the type of the characters and the two techniques propulsion jumping and climbing.

Gameplay[]

As with its predecessors, Super Smash Bros GX is a departure from traditional fighting games, notably in its simplified move commands and its emphasis on ring-outs over knockouts. SSB GX supports multiplayer battles with up to 10 players battle (Online). Like in previous games in the series, Super Smash Bros.GX is a multiplayer fighting game in which the players use various attacks, techniques, and items to deal damage to their opponents. The aim of the game is for players to increase their opponents' damage percentage, causing them to fly back further when attacked, and eventually, knock them out of the playing field. To assist players during fights, items appear on the battlefield, including items from the various video games represented in the series and some unique to Super Smash Bros.. An item called a Smash Ball allows players to use a powerful, character-specific finishing move, otherwise known as a "Final Smash" attack.

A new gameplay caracteristic is the equipment cards. A equipment card, when it is associated with a character, give to the characters power bonus, speed bonus, or others things. The cards belongs to a rare class, and the rarity is represented by a number of stars (1-4). This means is that a card has more stars, more the card is powerful and rare. The card can be unlock by different way. For exemple, you can buy it in the Smash shop, or win the most rare in somes online challenges against others people in the world.

Characters[]

90 characters are confirmed to being playable in the game (38 more that the previous instalment). Sheik and Zero suit Samus are not anymore standalone characters and return to the Zelda and Samus transformations.

In SSB GX, each characters have a rarity (represented by a number of stars, like the equipment card). At the start, all of the characters have 1 star (The unlockable characters are exeptions, because they start with 2 stars). More you play with it, more they will become strong and powerful and gain experience points (XP). When a characters reach maximum level of his rank, you can increase the rank, and thus his rarity. The star maximum is 4 and when a character reach this limit, he become extremely powerful.

The Alpha form is, like the Battlefield, a form with 3 platforms above the stage. The Omega form is, like the Final Destination, a simple platform.

Game Modes []

Multiplayer modes[]

  • Versus

The most normal mode of a Smash Bros., where you can play 1-4 players locally or online. In this mode, players choose their favorite character to fight on the stages. The players can change the rules, and that's all the gameplay of the battle that changes depending on the selected rules. Time : players have 2 minutes by default (but may well decrease or increase the time) to fight and when a player is ejected, he loses 1 point. The last player to have touched meanwhile earns 1 point. The player with the most points at the end of the game win. Stock : players have 3 lives default (but may well decrease or increase the number of life). When a player is ejected, he loses a life, and when he has no lives, he is eliminated. The last player on the stage win. Coins : every time a character hits another characters, coins of different value falling beside the character like in Super Smash Bros. Melee. At the end of the time, the player with the highest number of coins win.

  • Smash tour

Like in the Super Smash Bros. for 3DS / Wii U, players control their mii on a board like Mario Party. The mini-games are replaced by training where to send a sandbag or a bomb as far as possible. This mode is a great way to upgrade the miis levels, whether shooter, swordsman, fighter, mage or athlete, as the mode give a lots of bonuses in the form of speed, power or skill to the winner.
