Classic Mode returns from Brawl, acting the same way. The player chooses a character and goes through a series of battles. The matches feature Bonus Stages as well as Giant, Metal, Team or Normal battles which appear randomly. When completing Classic Mode with a certain character, the player receives that character's Trophy.

| Stage 7 | Sin and Punishment, Yoshi, Donkey Kong or Kid Icarus series (Saki, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Pit) |
| Stage 8 | Metroid or Punch-Out!! series (Samus, Zero Suit Samus, Ridley, Little Mac) |
| Stage 9 | Star Fox series (Fox, Falco, Krystal, Wolf) |
| Bonus Stage 2 | Break the Targets!! |
| Stage 10 | The player has to fight 3 random characters. |
| Stage 11 | The player has to fight Master Hand. Crazy Hand will also appear if it is in Normal difficulty or higher within 12 minutes. |
