Super Smash Bros. Classic (also known as Super Smash Bros. 0 or Super Smash Bros. for the NES/Game Boy) is a "remake" of a "never before seen Super Smash Bros. game". Released for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, both versions have different stages and characters similarly to the upcoming fourth installment. The Wii U version is known as "the NES version" and the 3DS version is known as "the Game Boy version".

It exclusive to the eShop system. It is the first one to not have Sakurai on it and developed by a third-party company, Rowdy Rocker. The 1990 NES game can be unlocked in this game.

Gameplay

Super Smash Bros. Classic plays similarly to the other games on the series. It is a 4-player Mascot fighter, with each character having a damage meter instead of a health bar. The damage meter fills up, and the more it have, the more the character will be knocked longer. The objective is to knoch the character far away from the blast line. Each character have four special moves which can be triggered by an easy button combination (special attack button + a direction - ex: B + >).

The fighters can also use items to help them, items can be used on offense or defense, each item has a special gimmick to it. Also each stage has a special gimmick on it as well.
