Super Smash Bros. Apocalypse Is the Upcoming 4th film to the Super Smash Bros. Film Series that takes place after Brawl. It will be directed by Zombieland's Ruben Fleischer due to the trilogy's director Richard Donner retiring from directing. Some of the stars returning for this include Robert Downey Jr (who also serves as producer alongside Fleischer and Steven Spielberg), Orlando Bloom, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Alexander Ludwig, with new stars joining include George Clooney, Michelle Rodriguez, Asa Butterfield, and Matt Bomer. It was originally set for a December 25 2014 release, but was pushed to October 3 2014 to avoid competition with The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies.

PLOT[]

Following the events of Brawl, Mario (Robert Downey Jr.) and his team are faced with a bigger threat when Robotic Terrorist Leader Ronin (Billie Joe Armstrong, James Franco (Voice) and his group of robotic terrorists capture the president (George Clooney) and must team together with old and new allies to stop Ronin from destroying the world.

Michael Pena will be playing Jill's teacher Mr. Ortiz, who is wiped out later in the film along with some of his other classmates (Except Jill) by Nitro and Ronin's Team Members. Chespin, Fennekin, Fletching, Dedenne, Diancie, and Xerneas from the Pokemon XY Movie will return as well. PRODUCTION[]

The Announcement was first made by Robert Downey Jr. at Comic Con 2011, and stated that he will reprise his role for the film. Since then, there were no more announcements from the film. Orlando Bloom then stated in a Cannes 2013 Interview that he is indeed reprising his role as Link, while George Clooney says he's interested in playing a role in the film. Dwayne Johnson says he was gonna be in the film, but later dropped out due to scheduling conflicts with Hercules: The Thracian Wars and Fast And Furious 7.

Filming Began in July 2013 and ended on November 15 2013. Filming locations included New York City, Paris, Haeundae Beach, Detroit, San Francisco, Washington DC, Tokyo, Las Vegas, Miami, and Redding, California. It is revealed that the Robotic Terrorists arrival from the Undergrounds to Earth will take place in the Great Lakes, The Hudson Bay, And The Hoover Dam.

RELEASE[]

The First Teaser was released in front of all screenings of Man Of Steel on June 14 2013, and was released online a week later. The teaser was similar to the Dead Island Teaser Trailer, showing a reverse nonlinear sequence of the destruction of Las Vegas at the hands of several Robotic Terrorists / Warriors. A New Trailer with Footage from the film debuted with The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug, revealing it's official release date of October 3 2014. The original release date was set to be Christmas Day 2014, but was pushed to October to avoid competition with The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies. A SuperBowl Spot also aired during 4th quater of the game.

A 10 minute footage clip of the film was shown on IMAX Showings of Edge Of Tomorrow.

A New trailer debuted with Godzilla on May 16 2014, while the full trailer debuted with Guardians Of The Galaxy and Into The Storm in August 2014.

Hans Zimmer is confirmed to return to score the film.

It was announced that the film will be one of the Special Presentations at the Toronto International Film Festival.

SOUNDTRACK[]

The Official Score Album for the film will be released a week before the film's release.
