Super Smash Bros.: Star Powered is a video game released for the DS in late 2011. It features the roster of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but omits Snake and Ivysaur for Pac-Man and Mewtwo, respectively, along with introductions of a few newcomers. Also includes downloadable characters, stages, and items, and online play.

The game has the exact same gameplay of other Smash games. However, when someone only has one life left, they turn into a "Star Powered" form, or "Final Form" in Europe, which makes players faster and/or stronger. To turn back to normal or back into their Final Form, one must press the "SELECT" button Players aim to knock each other off a stage, using the occasional items that fall from the sky. Whenever someone destroys a Smash Ball, they get a rainbow aura around them, and when they press B, they activate their Final Smash, an ability of immense power, and, if it does not involve a transformation of any source, it is hard to avoid. Another new addition to gameplay is, when playing online, up to eight people can be playing, with purple, orange, black, and cyan indicators for P5, P6, P7, and P8, respectively.
