Over ten years after Bowser Jr. attacked Isle Delfino, Mario decded to return and see how things were. So him, Peach, Toadsworth, Luigi, Toad, and Toadette hopped into an airplane and flew across the ocean towards the island.
When they landed on the runway, it looked goop-free. Mario walked over to a boat ready to head towards the plaza. But, of course, a huge wad of goop came up and out of the water! It covered the boat, ate the driver, and roared. The goop monster slithered its way onto the runway. Completely nervous, Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Toadette ran into a nearby building.
Inside the building, it was very dark. Mario looked around and saw a wide set of computer screens. A light suddenly clicked on, and Professor E. Gadd walked over to them. He asked what was going on outside, and Mario quickly explained the goop monster. E. Gadd turned and pulled a fw things out from a box. Inside the box were four gadgets that he handed to everyone. The professor then said to go and clean up the runway.
|Mario||The plumber in red is returning to the isle of Delfino! After Bowser Jr. struck back, Mario brought F.L.U.D.D. back out to douse some goop.||F.L.U.D.D.: Mario has the gadget he used back in 2001 to clean up goop, and now he's dusting it off! F.L.U.D.D. has many nozzles that Mario can find throughout the game. The Hover and Squirt nozzles are the only ones you have at the beginning of the game.||Mario is a balanced character. His speed and jump are basic. F.L.U.D.D. functions simply, with a basic speed for every nozzle. Really, Mario doesn't have a real advantage or disadvantage.|
|Luigi||Mario's younger brother is helping to clean up the island! With his old Poltergust 5000, Luigi can suck goop into it. The professor added some modifications to it, allowing to to squirt water as well!||Poltergust 5000: The Poltergust is back in Luigi's new adventure! It can suck up goop, as well as most enemies. You can then shoot it back out or just destroy it.||Luigi jumps higher than Mario and Toad. He is fast, but not as fast as Toad! His Poltergust does not do the Hover or Rocket nozzles very high, but the Turbo nozzle goes faster than ever!|
