Super Mario Millenium is a 2015 2.5D platformer in the Super Mario series, and is a spiritual sequel to Super Mario Galaxy 2. Millenium is the first game to be developed by GalaxySoft Inc. in conjunction with Nintendo after they regained their Mario contract. The game will feature all new worlds similar to the ones found in the Super Mario Galaxy games, and will be released on the Wii U in late 2015.
After a 1,000 year search, the Millenium Medallion - an artifact said to be from the past of the Mushroom Kingdom (when it was called the Shroomly Empire) - has been found! Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi attend the unveiling of it at the Toad Town Museum, not knowing that the Wario Bros. have shown up to steal the medallion and trade it in for billions of gold coins. Suddenly, Bowser and his newest minion, Spadallis, explode a nearby wall and invade. Wario and Waluigi's location is blown and the two try to flee the scene, but are caught by a tractor beam launched by Spadallis. Bowser says that an asteroid crashed outside of his castle, and that Spadallis was created from said asteroid. The Koopalings and Kamek went to work trying to find a proper power source and eventually chose a Grand Star. Spadallis has powers unlike any the Bros. have ever faced, and that's why Bowser created him. The asteroid-created minion then traps Yoshi in an egg and sends the two sets of brothers flying.
World 1: Return to Starship Mario
The two sets of brothers (Mario Bros. and Wario Bros.) land face first on a place both Mario and Luigi recognize - Starship Mario!
There are 4 playable characters which are all playable from the start.
