Super Mario Gunners is a class-based, 3rd-person shooting game developed and published by Nintendo. The game features a variety of different Mario characters shooting eachother in large arenas. The game will be released on December 10th, 2018 for the Nintendo Switch.
Gameplay[]
Super Mario Gunners is a 3rd-person shooting game. Players fight against eacother in 5v5 matches, playing as many different Mario characters. Each character has differing weapons and skills that make them unique. They also have a Finishing Ability, which charges up and the player does damage. In matches, players attempt to beat an objective, depending on which area you are playing on (check maps for more information).

Modes[]
Versus[]
A simple mode, players can go online and play against other players. Players are able choose what map they want to play on (along with seeing the amount of servers being used for the map).
Custom Versus[]
In this mode, players can join servers created by other players. However, you can also make your own servers, and even customize the rules of these maps.
Playable Characters[]
The game features a wide variety of characters from the Mario Universe to play as. Each character has unique abilities.
Mario |
Class Type: Assault Mario is a great mix of offense, mobility, and defense. A front-line fighter, wielding a blaster that shoots fireballs. Primary Fire: Fire Blaster Mario shoots at the enemy with a blaster. The blast shoots fireballs with rapid-fire capabilities. Holds 30 shots before needing to reload. Ability 1: Mega Fireball Mario sends out a more powerful fireball at the enemy. The Fireball does great damage and has an area of effect. Has a 10 second cooldown. Ability 2: Super Boost Mario gains a boost in speed and jump height, allowing him to disorient his enemies and get to the front lines much faster. Has a 20 second cooldown. Finishing Ability: Giga Inferno Mario sends out a huge wave of fire, doing massive damage to anyone in the wave. It can go through walls, and Mario can move while it is active. Passive: Jump Damage If Mario jumps on top of an enemy, they take damage. | |
Luigi |
Class Type: Sniper Luigi is not the type of guy who you'll see in the front lines. Instead, he wield a modified Poltergust (named the Poltergun), allows him to do high damage from a long range. Primary Fire: Thunder Spark Luigi fires an electric shot from his Poltergun. The shot can be charged to increase damage. Holds 8 shots before needing to reload. Ability 1: Polterpup Summon Luigi's gun fires a Polterpup. The Polterpup, once spotting an enemy, will attempt to grab them, and drag them into Luigi's sights. However, Polterpup can be destroyed from a few shots. Has a 1 minute cooldown. Ability 2: Tele-Link Luigi fires an electric shot that flies in a straight line. When it hits a wall, or if the player presses the ability button again, he instantly teleports to the shot. This allows Luigi to gain high ground, unaccesable to other charcters. Has a 15 second cooldown. Finishing Ability: Death Stare Luigi becomes able to see and shoot through walls. His bullets get more powerful and don't need to be chargeed. | |
Peach |
Class Type: Supporter Princess Peach is a great support class, using a magical staff to do good damage, along with using it to cast powerful shots. Primary Fire: Heart Bolt Peach fires a pink shot from her staff. This does good, rapid damage. Holds 25 shots before needing to reload. Ability 1: Healing Wave Peach sends out a pink beam that sticks to allies and slowly heals them. Ability 2: Super Heart Peach fires a large, slow moving heart forward. The heart passes through walls, heals nearby allies, and damages players that touch it. Has a 10 second cooldown. Finishing Ability: Empress Peach Peach releases pink waves around her, healing allies and damaging and pushing back enemies in the radius. Peach can move during the attack, albiet quite slowly. Passive: Float Peach, by holding the jump button while in the air, can float for a short time. | |
Yoshi |
Class Type: Explosive Specialist Yoshi is a front-line fighter that can take down multiple enemies with his trusty Egg Launcher. While quite squishy, his attacks can do massive damage. Primary Fire: Egg Launcher Yoshi fires an egg from his Egg Launcher. It does good damage and has an area of effect. Holds 6 shots before needing to reload. Ability 1: Mini Egg Bombs Yoshi tosses one of these sticky, miniature eggs at the foes. Upon enemy contact, they explode. Multiples of these can be placed at once, and they can create a chain reaction if one of them explodes next to eachother. Yoshi can hold 6 at once, and one is created every 5 seconds. Ability 2: Egg Roll Yoshi transforms into an egg and can roll around. Inside the egg, Yoshi takes less damage, and is quite fast. If he presses the fire button, the egg explodes, causing minor damage to surrounding enemies. Has a 15 second cooldown. Finishing Ability: Eggstorm Yoshi gains an aerial view of the map, and can send down a storm of exploding eggs anywhere on the map. | |

Bowser |
Class Type: Juggernaut Bowser is a powerhouse. While slow, he can do some massive damage with the use of his Koopa Gatling Gun. Primary Fire: Gatling Gun Bowser fires out a massive amount of fireballs at the enemy. While it takes time to spin up, it has a high rate and fire and never needs to reload. However, be careful, as firing it for too long will have it overheat. Ability 1: Ability 2: Finishing Ability: Giga Bowser Bowser transforms into Giga Bowser. He grows in size, and his gun is replaced with a scratch attack. Bowser is invincible in this state, but he's really slow. Passive: Shell Defense Bowser takes little to no damage from attacks from the back. |

Objective: Control An arena that takes place in a town surrounding Peach's Castle. Players on the Red Team attempt to capture two points in the arena, one in a large open area, and another near Peach's Castle, while the Blue Team has to defend the points before time runs out. | |
