Super Mario Galaxy: Orbital Adventures is the fourth installment in the Super Mario Galaxy series, set to release in the holiday season of 2014. The game is being developed by Pixel Perfect Co. for the Wii U. Pixel Perfect says that they have gone "back to basics with Super Mario Galaxy" after the previous installment received such poor reception.
Gameplay[]
The game will play very similarly to the first two installments. There are, however, some major differences as well. The life meter has been doubled - players now have a 6-point health meter as opposed to 3. Another big difference is that the game has four playable characters (Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi) who can be changed at any point after being unlocked, similar to that of Super Mario 64 DS. The multiplayer in Orbital Adventures is much different than in the first two installments. Instead of a Co-Star Luma or something of the like, four players can join in at one time. Each player has his or her own life count, and players do not respawn until the level ends, whether it be by completing the level or all players dying on the level. Certain levels can only be completed by using a certain character - because of this, multiplayer is disabled for those levels. Occasionally, Prankster Comets will pass through a galaxy, opening up a special mission ranging from speed runs to purple coin missions. Speed runs and romp missions can only be completed in single player.
