DISCLAIMER: The following is NOT a work in progress, nor is it an official project. If this can ever become a true fan game like Super Mario Galaxy 2.5, then whoopee. If not, too bad. But regardless, this is just an IDEA, not a true game.

Super Mario Galaxy: Cosmic Quest is a fan-made extension to Super Mario Galaxy 2, adding over 40 new galaxies and a much wider array of power-ups, items, and bosses. Not much is known about the game as of now.

Gameplay

Being a fan-made DLC pack, Super Mario Galaxy: Cosmic Quest plays exactly like the game it is attached to (Super Mario Galaxy 2). Mario can still spin, jump on enemies, and collect Star Bits all the same. However, all of the new galaxies, missions, and bosses are completely original. Cosmic Quest also introduces some new power-ups, such as the Magic Wing, Fire Bro Suit, and Paragoomba's Shoe, though it maintains and revives old power-ups like the Fire Flower, Ice Flower, and Bee Mushroom.

Worlds and Galaxies

Galaxy Description Missions Boss(es)
Humble Beginnings Galaxy The first galaxy that Mario enters, and it serves as an introduction stage. As such, it's almost impossible to lose a life in the first mission. The second mission, however, is much more difficult and only appears once Mario reaches World 6. This galaxy harbors many Launch Stars and Sling Stars to go from planet to planet.

Green Groves Galaxy

The first true galaxy in the game. Keeping the Mario Galaxy tradition, the main enemies are Piranha Plants, and the first boss is introduced in the form of Sneaky Piranha.

Goomba Land Galaxy (2 Stars)

A Goomba/Galoomba-themed galaxy modeled like a circus park. Most of the galaxy involves Mario traversing out-of-control Goomba-themed rides like coasters and ferris wheels, but he must be careful, since many broken rides are falling apart around him as he searches for Power Stars. Mario uses the Vanish Cap and Goomba Suit for the first time here.

Honeycomb Galaxy (5 Stars)

Another fairly easy galaxy. It is mainly set in a giant bee hive (called "Castle Hive" by the Bee citizens) and reintroduces the Bee Mushroom and the Bee characters. The main enemies here are Stingbies and Mandibugs, which have joined forces to conquer the Castle Hive.

Switch Flipper Galaxy (7 Stars)

A fairly simple galaxy full of Flipswitches and Flip-Swap Platforms. Barely any enemies are found here, and as such, the challenge of this galaxy lies in the obstacles instead.

Bowser's Molten Manse (7 Stars)

A castle stage structured like a mansion. Here, Magikoopas, Hammer Bros., Fire Bros., and Bob-Ombs make their debut. False Bowser is fought on the roof of the mansion, which detaches from the house and splits into many platforms that Mario must hop across to avoid falling to his doom. After Bowser takes enough hits from Mario, he is revealed to be a Goomba in disguise. This is the first time that Mario encounters Yoshi.

Galaxy Description Missions Boss(es)
Tropical Sands Galaxy

A tropical stage that takes place mostly on islands, though there are points in which Mario goes underwater. The most prominant enemies are Bloopers and Cheep-Cheeps, though Sand Goombas appear, too. Piantas and Nokis reside in this galaxy. This is the first time that Mario uses the Metal Cap and the Frog Suit in-game.

Building Block Galaxy (10 Stars) A level built almost entirely around Cosmic Platforms. As such there are several instances where Mario can fall into the vaccum of space if he isn't careful to jump in the right spots to make the Cosmic Platforms appear.

Lemmy's Crazy Castle A castle owned by Lemmy Koopa. There are several tightropes and small platforms littered around the level, usually suspended above a boiling pit of lava or chomper enemies. This stage introduces Podoboos, and they are the main enemies along with Hammer Bros., Boomerang Bros., and Bullet Bills. Lemmy is fought at the end, riding around a huge planet with a yellow ball. After being defeated by Mario or Luigi, Lemmy's ball pops, revealing the Grand Star inside and causing him to rocket away into the distance.
