Super Mario Bros. The Nintendo Mix (スーパーマリオ:任天堂カオス: Super Mario: Nintendo Chaos in Japan) is a platformer game for the Wii U and 3DS. The game was made to celebrate the 30th anniversary for the Super Mario Series. The game mixes all the Nintendo and other Third Party Franchises like The Legend of Zelda, Kirby, and Mother.

Wii U

After the events of Super Mario Bros. Mario punishes Bowser, by using a catapult to throw him into the sky. Bowser then flies to space and lands on a mysterious planet. Bowser finds 6 villains. They are Giygas, Ganondorf, Dr. Wily, King Dedede, Dr. Eggman, and Master Hand. They say they came from a magical portal after they get defeated by the heroes. Bowser then creates a machine called the Mixy Mixer 1000. It then mixes up Mario's Home Planet. All of his friends get sucked out while Mario passes out.

He wakes up on a tropical island and finds a Pokémon named MissingNo. He claims that Bowser and other villains has mixed up the other universes and put them on an island called the Minus World. MissingNo was originally a Pichu that was cursed by Bowser. Mario then goes out to save the universes. After the second level, Mario saves Ness who was kidnapped by Giygas.

After Mario defeats King Dedede on the W4 airship, he rescues Kirby and Luigi. However Bowser Jr. comes and takes Luigi. Kirby tries to save him, but gets stunned by Junior's Bullet Bills, which Kirby says "tastes awful". Mario then confronts Bowser. Before Mario can defeat Bowser, Kamek comes and summons a clone.

Mario then defeats them by letting them break the bricks below them. Bowser says that He will be back one day. Everything is back to normal and all the characters are in their own correct universes.

The game begins after the events of Super Mario Bros. 2, Bowser teams up with Porky, the Duck Hunt Dog, Dr. Eggman, Meta Knight, Ganondorf and Master Hand. They then cause havoc on the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario enters a pipe and ends up in the Minus World. The rest of that plot of similar to the Wii U version. The difference is new villains.

Gameplay (Wii U)

Super Mario Bros. The Nintendo Mix /3DS Gamplay There are 2 gameplay styles. One is 2D and one is 3D. The game can be played up to 5 players. The characters are Luigi, Toads, and Nabbit. Nabbit is invincible to everything but lava, poison, and pits. Nabbit can use his bag and release items for players. The player can release them in the pause menu. Unlike the other Mario Games, there is no time limit, except for bonus stages like racing with Sonic or other bonus games.

Super Guide

Sonic Super Guide Block

The look of the new Super Guide Block.

Returning from NSMBW, is the super guide block. This time it is colored blue. If the player loses 5 lives in a stage, the block will appear in at the start or midway of the level. It doesn't matter if it's 2D or 3D. If the player hits it, it goes into Auto Pilot Mode: A CPU Controlled Sonic The Hedgehog will move on his own. The Super Guide will teach younger players how to play the level. Sonic will not collect Star Coins, take damage, or reveal secrets. Sonic will also not run in the stage. (despite the fact that he runs "at the speed of sound") He will also not spin dash. The player can pause the game and quit. They will return to the hub. If Sonic completes the stage, a message pops up saying if the player will try again or go the next level. If the player selects to go the next level, the stage will say it's still incomplete. They must complete the original stage by not hitting the block.

2D Gameplay

There are item boxes like ? Blocks, Bricks, and Monitors. They give Mario a Fire Flower, Acorn, or any other item.

There is grass in some levels and the player can use it like a veggie in SMB2. Mario must go with 3 exits. A Flag Pole, A Sonic Goal, and a key.

Players can play on a Wii U Gamepad, Wii Remote, or a Classic Controller. They must jump on enemies to defeat them. However, if they have spikes or bolts on their heads, they won't die. If the player spin jumps on the enemies, it will make a sound from SMW and they can kill them. However if they spin jump on spiked enemies, they can bounce on them. Bolted enemies will kill the player or shrinking them to their original form, no matter if they have a Fire Flower, Acorn, etc.

The player can also ride Yoshi. Nabbit can snatch the Yoshi with has bag too. Yoshi can eat enemies just like he did in Super Mario World. Each Yoshi has different abilities. Baby Yoshis also return with more colors too. Unlike Super Mario World, they can't bring Yoshi with them. They can bring Baby Yoshis however. Nabbit can carry adult Yoshis, if he snatched one in his bag.

There is a new shop in the game. They can buy items like Baby Yoshis, Yoshis, Powerups, or extra stages. They can also watch cutscenes, or buy tips which costs "$10". They can buy these if they have enough coins, ruppes, money, rings, etc. They can also buy the "$9000" costing character, Sonic the Hedgehog. The can play as him if the press B on the Wii Remote and select a stage.

Dragon Coins are now in the game and there are 3 of them in each 2D Stage. If the player collects all of them in every stage, they unlock optional invisibility, which can be turned on/off in the pause menu. However in bonus games, the player is stuck with normal powers.

Racing With Sonic

After clearing (Onett) 1-3, Sonic spin dashes into him/her. Sonic tells them that he has the P Acorn and he won't give it to them, unless he races with them. It is optional. The mode is similar to rescuing Toads in NSMBW and catching Nabbit in NSMBU. Sonic's head will pop up on the stage. The player must try to beat Sonic and reach to the goal. The player can use shells to stun him. There are bonus rings that player can collect. After that Sonic gives the player the P Acorn. This works with World 1, 4,

3D Gameplay

The Sonic Suit is a Power Up. Mario can curl up into a ball and spin dash. He can also run fast. He is not allowed to use them in the Racing With Sonic mode though.

While Super Mario Maker was in development, Fantendo came up to Nintendo to collab. The game was in the title of Super Mario Fantendo. They started to work on the first level. The created the 2D Stage of the original Super Mario Bros., which can be found in the game's files and concept art. Fantendo's user Wikiboy10 who was responsible for the McDonalds Fanon, created a Zelda like styled stage. He sometimes "threw copyright laws out the window" by putting in Sonic Rings.

Fantendo thought it would be an interesting idea to come up with. The game was renamed "Super Mario: Nintendo Chaos in japan and Super Mario Bros. The Nintendo Mix in the US. The first Japanese trailer was leaked however. It showed many things like Ninjis returning and a Sonic Ring. The leaker (who's name was "LEAK ME") Was sued for "$120000". The trailer was then in the US.

Sega and Capcom decided to partner up with Fantendo and add more things like Motobugs and Mega Man enemies. It's release was supposed to be the same time as Mario Maker, but was later delayed upon Mario Maker's release. It's final release date was December 5, 2015 in Japan.

  • This is the first Mario game to have fan made music.
