Super Mario Bros. 2010 (Japan: 素晴らしいマリオ兄弟商会革命, Super Mario Bros. Revolution) is an EEA Inc. game for the Wii. It is the Wii version of the popular game Super Mario Bros. The game used many elements like characters and items from more recent Mario games.

Gameplay

The gameplay is much different that the original Super Mario Bros. The controls are much different too because a lot of the movement is with the Wii Remote and like all the other games in the Super Mario Bros. Series, the game is side scrolling. The graphics are much like the new 3D adventure Mario games. There is much more story in the game than the first one. Like New Super Mario Bros. the player can store items but this time the playable can save up to 10 items in each world (the playable can get another item to store up if he/she uses the item). Once the player has gone to a world a Warp Pipe to that world will appear in the Warp Area (which can be found when the game is paused). The thing is that the map of the worlds does not reappear from Super Mario Bros. 3. The game has more elements from Super Mario Bros. then Super Mario Bros. 3. Instead of a map there is a level where the player can talk to Toads and other friends and get tips on the game. Then he/she chooses a pipe and goes to that level. When Mario beats that level he will come out and the next Warp Pipe to the next level will appear. Also the enemies are put in a glossary just like in Super Princess Peach. The bosses are not all False Bowsers and then the real Bowser. There is also a multi-player mode in which four players can play in the first level of each world. Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi are playable in multi-player mode. The game also includes a 3D version of the classic game, Mario Bros.

Story

When the Mushroom Kingdom gets attacked by the Koopa clan, King Bowser Koopa decides the kingdom is just right to take over. But Bowser could not take the throne by force because Princess Peach, princess of the Mushroom Kingdom was currently left in charge when King Toadstool was out to sea. Bowser knew that Peach had the power to stop Bowser's Koopa clan so he kidnapped her along with her five Toad servants, Toadette, and Toadsworth. A helpless Toad who escaped ran around and tried to find someone who would save the seven Toads and Princess Peach. All he could find was two plumbers named Mario & Luigi. The Mario bros. were happy to help Toad save Peach. Wario & Waluigi, two tax collectors found out about Peach and knew there would be so much gold along the way to Bowser's Castle and asked to join the Mario bros. Mario & Luigi agreed and the four set off the find Bowser. With the help of many Toads in Mushroom Shops, Mario and co. found all seven Toads after beating seven bosses. Only Bowser stood in their way now. When the bros. came to Bowser's Castle, they beat Bowser who turned to Dry Bowser and flied from the Mushroom Kingdom. King Toadstool soon returned and gave Mario & Luigi a job as knights and Wario & Waluigi got a reward, a treasure crest of 1000 coins. The kingdom was saved and everyone was happy.

Characters

  • Mario - The basic character for beginners which has the best handling but normal moves are quite basic and no special abilities. Still nothing wrong with Mario.
  • Luigi - Luigi can jump higher than Mario and run faster then Mario but his handling can be very hard at times, especially when he jumps and is also much harder to stop.
  • Wario - The slowest character of them all, Wario has the worst jumping but he is the easiest character to control and is the most powerful when punching and kicking.
  • Waluigi - Waluigi is the fastest character and has the best jumps of all but is the hardest character to control and not very good at punching but good at kicking.

Worlds

  • Boss - Goomboss - The king of the Goombas is ready to get revenge on Mario for crushing his minions. However, Goomboss is just as strong as a Mega Goomba.
  • World 3 - A peaceful island known as Isle Delfino which is home to many Piantas and Nokis. Many Yoshis live in this world as well. It is a great place to relax.
  • Boss - Chief Chilly - After escaping his imprisoning in the ice, he was thawed out by his newest power, fireballs. The chief has a weakness for fire though.
  • World 6 - A world up in space currently ruled by Princess Rosalina. Many Lumas live in the galaxy. Many strange creatures also live in the galaxy.
  • World 7 - A cloudy world known as Coin Heaven where very many coins are found. Lakitus make their home in this world and control the clouds that live here.
  • Boss - King Boo - The king of all ghosts (Boos) is back and is still afraid of the light. King Boo's eyes are his main weak spot. He hopes to defeat Luigi this time.

Trivia

  • Because of the name difference in Japan, the game will release 2009 in Japan and 2010 in everywhere else.
  • When Mario, Luigi, Wario, or Waluigi gets hit by an enemy, he will become a baby version of himself.
  • This the first game in which Mario talks (other than little quotes like, "Mama Mia" or "It's a me, Mario").
  • In the game there are many tunes throughout the game that are remixes of the Super Mario Bros.' original tunes.
