Super Mario 65 is the Wii version of Super Mario 64. It's gameplay is exactly like it.
Story
We start with a letter from Peach. It reads:
"Dear Mario, come over to the castle. I have baked a nice cake for you. Signed, Princess Peach"
After that, a warp pipe comes out of the ground, and Mario, along with Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi. The four begin to walk over to the castle, when suddenly...
Later, a Lakitu is talking with Yoshi, saying how Peach has been kidnapped again by Bowser and his son. Yoshi gets ready to rescue his friends, and the adventure really begins.
Playable characters
Default
- Yoshi: Yoshi can eat enemies and flutter jump. After eating an enemy, Yoshi makes an egg, which can be thrown. He can run fast by eating a Dash Pepper, float upwards by eating a Blimp Berry, and light up hidden paths by eating a Bulb Berry.
Unlockable
- Mario: Mario can use the slide attack. Mario can become Balloon Mario after grabbing a P-Balloon. To unlock him, have Yoshi eat a Bulb Fruit to uncover the painting of Mario. Hop into the painting, select the level, and complete the level to get a red key. Use this key to unlock a door with a red M over it. Mario is unlocked!
- Luigi: Luigi can jump higher than Mario can. Luigi can become Invisible Luigi after grabbing a Vanish Flower. To unlock him, have Mario grab a P Balloon to float up to another platform where there is a painting of Luigi. Hop into the painting, select the level, and complete the level to get a green key. Use this key to unlock a door with a green L over it. Luigi is unlocked!
- Wario: Wario can break cracked walls and ground pound. Wario can become Metal Wario after grabbing a Metal Mushroom. To unlock him, have Luigi grab a Vanish Flower so he can walk through the mirror where there is a painting of Wario. Hop into the painting, select the level, and complete the level to get a yellow key. Use this key to unlock a door with a light blue W over it. Wario is unlocked!
- Waluigi: Waluigi can jump higher than Luigi. Waluigi can become Boo Waluigi after grabbing a Boo Mushroom. To unlock him, have Wario grab a Metal Mushroom so he can sink to the bottom of the fountain where there is a painting of Waluigi. Hop into the painting, select the level, and complete the level to get a dark purple key. Use this key to unlock a door with a gold upside-down L over it. Waluigi is unlocked!
- Birdo: Birdo can inhale enemies and ground pound. Birdo can become Flame Birdo after eating a Spicy Pepper. To unlock her, you must get her shine necklace back. Turn into Boo Waluigi and float through bars where there is a painting of Delfino Plaza. Hop into the painting, select the level, and complete the level to get the shine necklace. Give the necklace to Birdo. Birdo is unlocked!
