Super Mario: Stellar Journey is a 3D Mario platformer game for the 3DS and the Wii U.

Storyline

Once every hundred years the Star Festival is celebrated in the Mushroom Kingdom. It's a festival of peace, fun, stars and cake... Usually.
One Star Festival night, Princess Peach sent Mario a letter, inviting him to come over to her castle to share some cake with her and enjoy the view on the nightsky, filled with thousands of glittering stars. Without haveing second thoughts, Mario grabbed Luigi and they rushed towards the castle. As they were approaching their destination, they, suddenly, heard screams coming from the castle. A second later, the brothers saw a Koopa Clown Car, filled with Power Stars, flying out of the window of Peach's room. On top of the Power Stars were the Koopalings and Princess Peach herself in their hands. At the same time, Bowser's airship sailed in out of the clouds and started shooting Bullet Bills and meteors everywhere. One of those meteors managed to hit Rosalina's Observatory, which was floating up above the castle as usual. It started falling. The citizens of Castleside Village luckily escaped their death, by running out of the Observatory's crash site.
After the dust has set on the ground, Bowser and his minions were nowhere to be seen, only the fallen Observatory on the ground serving as the reminder of their actions. The Bros., still in shock, went to explore the crash landing. In the wreckage they found Rosalina with the Lumas, who managed to hide in the topmost dome and evade suffering from the crash. Rosalina said: "Thank you for coming here to help us, but I think we're ok. Bowser has once again stolen all the Power Stars as well as the Princess. But they couldn't have escaped far away, as their airships were running out of power and the Power Stars need some time in order to be fully operational and give them the star power they need to travel to the far reaches of the universe. If we run after them now, we might still stand a chance of finding the Power Stars and Peach." Rosalina looked to the north-east: "I saw them flying away in that direction, towards Green Valley. I think you can fly over there by using one of the domes, as it's not very far away and we still have some star power reserves. Unfortunately, the only dome which currently has enough power is the Terrace, which is the weakest dome in terms of range, so you can't fly over directly to their outpost. But I'm sure you can survive whatever danger Green Valley has to offer and also collect Power Stars on the way, since I saw the Koopalings dropping some during the flight." "Okey-dokey," answered the brothers and ran towards the green-roofed dome, the Terrace. "May the stars help you," said Rosalina as farewell.
