Immortal is the second episode of Super Mario: Dimension Journey (TV Show)'s first season. It aired on the 23rd of November, 2016, one week after Mario out.

Story[]

The episode begins with Mario, Luigi, Wario and Waluigi fighting Masher at Eggman's base. When they are cornered, someone jumps down in front of the bros and attacks Masher with a metal bar, giving the bros a chance to escape. They escape and they find the person stumbling out of the building. Mario notices her injured state and bring her back with them.

The girl tells the bros that she is called Kame Amari, a Japanese girl from the year 1045 who was cursed with immortality after breaking the law. She thought that it was a reward, to be able to live forever and unable to die, even if she got badly injured. However, she realises that it was one of the worst thing to happen to her (Wario is confused).

Dr. Eggman is still recovering after the incident and looks over the CCTV footage of the fight with the Mario Co and Masher. He is pleased with Kame's fighting. He orders his minions, Grounder and Plankton, to kidnap her and bring her back to his base.

Luigi and Kame are seen sitting on the roof of the hub house at night. Kame his very pleased to have Luigi company and Luigi begins to notice some what of a romantic relationship between them. He decides to go to bed and Kame stays where she is. Suddenly, Grounder sneaks up behind her and pulls a bag over her.Mario and Co hear her cry and find Grounder and Plankton with a bag with her Kame inside. Wario runs for them but they teleport elsewhere and he runs into a lamppost. Mario, Luigi and Waluigi head to Eggman's base. Meanwhile, Plankton ties Kame up on a chair and Eggman tells her his reason for her kidnapping is because he wants her to be on his side and take advantage of her immortality.

The Mario Bros soon turn up (without Wario) and decide to talk Eggman into giving her back. They find Grounder armed with his arm cannon and shoot at them but it launches him back. Mario walks up to him and tells Eggman not to use her as "slave" and to leave her alone (Grounder asks him if he could say the same but for him but Eggman yells at him to shut up). He doesn't want to however and tells Mario what he could do with Kame and that she would survive anything he put her through. Anyways, he shoves Mario to the ground and turns to where Kame was, only to find that she has been freed and running alongside Luigi. Dr Eggman orders Grounder and Plankton to stop them but they back off because they think that he wanted them for the same reason as he wanted Kame. She and Luigi make several parkour moves to the exit where Miyuki and Toad are but the platform they are standing on suddenly collapses due to being unstable. Toad quickly throws a cape feather to Luigi and transforms him into his cape form. He rescues Kame before she hits the ground and crash into Eggman whilst gliding. This knocks him out and everyone else leaves, leaving Grounder and Plankton with Eggman's unconscious body.

Later, Kame is ready to set off far away from Dr Eggman as possible and leaves the Mario Co, who wave her good bye in the ending scene. The Princess of Dimensions is also seen looking down to her from a nearby hill.

Quotes[]

  • "I thought Immortality was the best thing to get, seeing how the world would develop, not caring if anyone held you at gun point 'cause you wouldn't die from any thing, looking young forever, all that stuff. Of course, only now have I just realised that it was a really bad punishment; seeing everyone you know die, going on an emotional rollercoaster for life, suffering from millions of things from over the years..."-Kame.
    • "Meh, I would have stuck to a limited life."-Waluigi.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first time in the show where:
    • An original character appears;
    • Plankton and Grounder appear as Dr Eggman's henchmen;
    • Toad and the Princess of Dimensions appear.
  • Only one ability is featured in this episode.
