Battlefield is a staple in the Super Smash Bros. franchise, the Alpha version is based off this.

Overview Much like in the past, it consists of a single long platform with three floating stages that appear in a triangle formation. The floating platforms that can passed down under by pressing down on the control stick. However, the longer platform cannot but players can grab onto the stage ledges.

Appearance on the Handheld The stage has a more fantastical setting than before with the stage floating over what appears to be floating over an idyllic valley comprised of a water, rivers, trees, and mountains in the distance. A very large moon and a smaller moon lies in the distance set against a blue size. There are also various castle ruins dotting the background. The stage itself is full of grass with a large tree to the left in which the roots reach down the stages ledges. There are also various ruined stone formations in the center as if there was a tower there. The day and night cycle in absent in this version of Battlefield but, instead, features a seasonal cycle.

The cycle starts with Summer and the grass and leaves are green and flowers appear on stage. Summer becomes Autumn and the grass begins to brown and the leaves changes colors. Mushrooms will poke up and leaves will be scattered along the stage. It has a very orange, red, and yellow coloration to the background. Autumn becomes Winter and the stage becomes covered with snow and the leaves and grass becomes dormant. Ice forms on the river below and the entire atmosphere is cold and harsh. However, Winter becomes Spring and flowers and grass pokes out from the stage and butterflies flies in the background.

Ω Version It has the single Final Destination stage with the background which changes seasons.

A Version No change.

Large Version It has 6 platforms instead of 3 platforms.

Appearance on the Console Much like the Handheld version, the Day/Night cycle is absent but replaced with a Seasonal cycle. However, weather cycles are also present in the stage along with the seasons. Appearance-wise, the stage is a bit different than the Handheld: the stage is perched high above the remains of a ruined modern city that is slightly reminiscent of movies such as I Am Legend and the game The Last of Us. Skyscrapers stand proud and tall but overcome by vines and trees that poke out. Grasses cover what used to be streets and wild animals prowl through them. Cars that are rusted and overcome my greenery sit vacant in the streets. The stage itself appears to be a ruined street with grasses and flowers poking up from it's cracks. What appears to be a ruined bus stop lies in the center; partially collapsed as well as a sign that says "Bus Stop". To the right of the bus stop is some dilapidated metal structures that are rusted and covered in moss.

As mentioned before, there is a seasonal and weather cycle. Summer plays host to dozens of grasses and flowers with a bright sun beating down on the stage. Animals are abundant int he background below though at times, a summer thunderstorm may brew in the background; pelting rain onto the stage and lightning strikes in the background. Summer then becomes Autumn with the leaves turning many different colors. The stage itself is covered with fall leaves and bees buzz in the background. At times, a dog may set itself in the background: obscuring everything but the tallest structures. Autumn then becomes Winter and the entire stage becomes a wintery post-apocalyptic wonderland. At times, snow may fall onto the stage and in the background. Winter then becomes Spring and the grass and flowers show themselves once more with butterflies flying about. At times, a rainstorm may descend onto the stage and will make everything wet.

The weather changes will not effect actual game play and a great amount of effort was made so it does not obstruct the vision from the players. Just in case though, toggling the Stage Hazards to "Zero" weakens the Weather cycle to only the background.

Ω Version It has the single Final Destination stage with the background which changes seasons. Weather effects are limited only to the background.

A Version No change.

Large Version It has 6 platforms instead of 3 platforms.

Final Destination is widely considered to be the most fair and balanced stage which consists of a single long platform.

Overview Much like in previous incarnations, Final Destination consists of a single long platform that remains consistent between the Handheld and Console version. The ledges can be grabbed onto.

Appearance on the Handheld Much like Battlefield which features differences between the two versions, Final Destination also has different backgrounds though they are similar in other ways. The handheld version features Final Destination sitting in a sea of stars and planets. Comets speed by and the stars shift and change. However, time continues on and stars begin vanishing. The largest sun within the center of this galaxy begins to grow bigger and bigger until it explodes; sending its remains into the cosmos; shattering apart planets. As the dust settles, rocks from the shattered plants and energy from the sun form new planets and life begins anew. However, in the background which features the vastness of space, a bright light erupts and sends energy into the background; crumbling apart the new sun and planets and everything becomes back. However, in the center of this blackness, a white light shines forth and explodes which bears new life and a new galaxy with new planets and sun forming gradually. This background depicts the ending of the universe and then its rebirth. It then loops around; destruction and rebirth.

Ω Version No change

A Version It has 3 Battlefield-like platforms that appear much like Final Destinations main stage.

Large Version No change

Appearance on the Console Much like the Handheld version but with a greater amount of objects in the background with more detail such as spaceship flying in the background and more planets and stars. However, it is actually reversed with it starting black and then a white light shinning which explodes; creating a galaxy which appears young and small at first. Planets form together while the sun grows larger. In due time, it goes nova and explodes; destroying the planets nearby but then a new system forms together from the energy. In due time, a new system is born but falls victim to the white light which destroys everything and casts everything into darkness. But within that darkness, a light shines forth and rebirth happens. Unlike the Handheld version, this is centered around rebirth and destruction.
