Predecessor Street Fighter 5

Street Fighter 6 is an upcoming 2.5D Fighting Game for the Visus Sphere. It is the first Third-Party Franchise for the system to be exclusively released for the system (albeit later versions of the game would be released for other systems). Like its predecessor Street Fighter 5, there is no Arcade Version of the game due to shifting tides and choices within capcom.

Gameplay in Street Fighter 6 has become more quick-paced and emphasizes on attacks more so. The movement has been refined as well thanks to more advanced technology allowing for the realism in movement to remain despite increased movement. The game's animations are faster than its predecessor however slower than Street Fighter IV's movements.

Like its predecessors, EX Specials and Guard Breaks return among the standard recurring features of the franchise. The V-Guage does not return however, being replaced by a more advanced combat system giving each character more moves overall. In addition Destructible Enviornments return this time more heavily used and the introduction of player wear-and-tear appears as battles progress each character's clothing and appearance will change depending on how they went in the previous round.

In terms of new content, DLC somewhat returns in some fashion, more complete versions of the game are released later on although there are only 2 New Versions of Street Fighter 6; Super Street Fighter 6 and Ultimate Street Fighter 6. Super Street Fighter 6 includes Cameo Characters from various Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft Franchises while Ultimate Street Fighter 6 includes all Event Released Characters and Cameo Characters.

A total of 47 Characters are available in the base game of Street Fighter 6, an additional 24 are Event Released meaning that if the player completes the timed event they will receive the character. In addition there are also 12 Cameo Characters (3 from each of the Major 3 Companies and 3 extras found in all versions of Super Street Fighter 6 and Ultimate Street Fighter 6). There are a total of 84 Playable Characters in Street Fighter 6 Overall.

Taking place a few years after Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike, the Street Fighter Tournaments have once again returned, although now a global event under control by the U.N., the Tournaments have brought in many fighters looking for fame and glory as well as old faces seeking to settle old rivalries. The first Tournament which takes place inbetween Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike and Street Fighter VI was surprsingly successful leading to advertising essentially paying for future Tournaments. The Tournaments now use special technology taken from the now defunct Shadaloo Organization that allows the Tournaments to take place inside simulated arenas minimizing damage to real life infrastructure. With a promise by Ryu to appear in the next Tournament (the one in which Street Fighter VI takes place) many old enemies and rivals suddenly begin announcing their return as well greatly increasing the publicity of the Tournament.
