|Star Fox Renegade|
|Genre(s)||3D Space Combat, Shooter-Exploration|
After the initial Lylat Wars between the Cornerian Army and Andross' Forces the Cornerians have had a chance to expand outward and re-establish contact with the galaxy. Star Fox now integral to the Cornerian Army has taken up the role as an Exploration Squad and Ace Ambassadors for the Cornerians however trouble brews from within neighbouring systems and it would appear that a war much larger than the Lylat Wars has been brewing for years and Corneria's return to the Galactic Systems has unfortunately put it in a tough position as it has yet to take a side on the matter.
The gameplay takes quite a change from Star Fox Zero and previous Star Fox Games in general, no longer are levels comprised of Auto-Scrolling sections but rather the player explores areas with the Arwing, Walker, Landmaster, Gravmaster, Blue Marine and a variety of new vehicles while simultaneously completing a variety of objectives. This was changed due to the general limitations of having Auto-Scrolling Levels with the scope the game hopes to achieve.
The game also expands on the branching paths concept from previous Star Fox games and borrows the multiple endings concept from Star Fox Command as the player must eventually choose to join one of the two major factions of the Galactic Systems or else risk Corneria's obliteration.
Unlike previous Star Fox games the player is not limited to just playing as Fox McCloud, although the player always controls the leader of their Squad, there are actually 6 characters the player can choose from; 3 from the start and 3 depending on which path the player takes. In addition the player has over 20 Assistant Squad Members who have their own strengths and weaknesses giving the game a bit of strategy and planning to it.

|Arwing||The space-faring jet-shaped vehicle of any ace pilot, the Arwing is the Star Fox's signature flyer and although other squads have their own equivalents they all effectively do the same thing which is, space and atmospheric flight and are attached with single laser cannons which can be upgraded to deal more damage, fire more frequently or simply fire more.|
|Walker||A transformation for the Arwing, the walker turns the Arwing into a smaller, land moving vehicle. It has the same firing capabilities as the Arwing although moves more slowly and uses jet propulsion to elevate itself. The walker is intended for precision movement and areas where the Arwing's size and speed are hinderances.|
|Landmaster||A powerful tank machine, the Landmaster is capable of shooting down terran and aerial enemies with great ease. Its powerful main cannon can knock out most enemies with a single shot and can be fired rather quickly. In addition the Landmaster is equipped with a pair of low energy lasers that can be used to pin a target in place to allow for an accurate shot although don't work on Aerial units. In addition the Land Master is able to hover up in the air for a brief period of time to avoid obstacles.|
|Gravmaster||Not actually the same as the original Gravmaster from Star Fox Zero, the new Gravmaster is a transformation for the Landmaster giving it a natural hovering ability although rather slow moving. In this form the Gravmaster acts as a highly mobile tank, it cannot use the Energy Lasers of the Landmaster although does have a natural in-built Anti-Grav Device that allows it to ascend any terrain, even ceilings. The Gravmaster has a rotating main cannon allowing it to fire more quickly than the Landmaster.|
|Blue Marine||A submersive marine vehicle, the Blue Marine is a Submarine which has Torpedos and Laser Cannons allowing it to easily protect itself from other vehicles as well as from incoming Torpoedos. The Submarine is able to charge through rubble as well as use water currents to move quickly.|
|Deep Serpent||A transformation for the Blue Marine, the Deep Serpent increases the agility and flexibility of the vehicle by turning into a long serpentine shape allowing it to fit through small crevices as well as corkscrew dive through rubble. In addition the Deep Serpent has a focused laser cannon that fires a powerful laser that can cut through enemies and boil the water around them creating minature explosions.|
|Mech Colossus||The Mech Colossus is a new vehicle gifted from the Cornerian Army to Team Star Fox, its technology is based on Mecharilla's although has had significant improvements to the weapon capabilties. Mech Colossus is equipped with a pair of Rail Guns attached to its arms which it can use to shoot down gunships from afar. in addition the sheer size of this machine allows it to crush most enemy vehicles under its legs. The Mech Colossus also has the unique ability to climb and manipulate objects with its hands, a trait previously unused by the Cornerian Army it allows for easy Capture/Retrieve Missions.|
|Drilling Giant||A transformation for the Mech Colossus, the Drilling Giant is a large sub-terranean boring machine capable of digging through solid terrain to reach underground bases. The machine uses a special sonar device to pick up underground explosives and enemy vehicles that attempt to stop it. Due to the compact space the Drilling Giant uses laser cannons that fire non-explosive rounds reducing the chance of cave-ins. In addition the Drilling Giant is capable of making a complete 180 degree turn due to its cylindrical body allowing it to drill backwards. Its laser Cannons act on seperate pivots allowing them to move a full 360 degree range.|
|Bomberwing||A large plane-like vehicle, the Bomberwing is able to release powerful explosives to destroy structures quite effectively, the vehicle is rather slow and thus can be an easy target for most enemies however it can protect itself thanks to its large turrets that can fire independently of the vehicle's direction of travel.|
|Stealthopper||The smallest vehicle, the Stealthopper is a special vehicle built specifically for stealth missions. Its small size allows it to sneak through areas of very small sizes. The Stealthopper is equipped with a Taser Cannon to silently disable enemies and sentries and its hind legs have hydraulic pistons in them allowing it to jump with incredible heights to make up for its lack of flight.|
