Spear Guy, sometimes also known as Jungle Guys, Tribal Guys and Jade Guys, is a type of tribal Shy Guy who wear grass skirts, wield a shield and spear, and have painted marks on their masks. Spear Guys debuted in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, and appeared in other Mario games after their introduction, mostly in RPGs and Mario Party games. They are commonly found in jungle and forest areas of various Mario titles.
Game Appearances[]
Super Mario MHL[]
A Spear Guy appears in Super Mario MHL.
Mario Hoops 3-On-3 Switch[]
While a Spear Guy himself doesn’t appear as a playable character in the Special Moves Spear Shot, Tornado Spear Shot, and Spear Wind Dunk Shy Guy attaches a spear to the ball and throws it.
Mario & Luigi: Sage Quest[]
Spear Guys appear in Mario & Luigi: Sage Quest, found in Plumdrop Rainforest and battled alongside Poison Bloopers, Scuttlebugs, Snifits, and Fuzzies. They act similar to the Chuck Guys from Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, the Coconutter from Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time and the Paper Shy Guys from Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam in battle. They can attack by swinging over to Mario or Luigi (or both of them when two are active in battle), throwing their spears at a bro, charging at them with their spears, or waving their spears above them (turning them into a Spiny enemy).
