Sonic Out Of The Zone is a cancelled 2D platform video game in the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series. It was developed by Killtendo as a companion game to Fusion Thunder Games' Sonic Final Battle Genesis to celebrate 25 years of the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. The game was slated for a November 2016 release, with the promise of being an epic entry to the series. Mysteriously, when the release day came, there was no sign of the game. Unfortunately, the game never made it past the late beta stage, as Killtendo's staff lost their passion for the project due to conflicting ideas and difficulty with the engine. After the realization that the game couldn't be pushed any further, and the team found it impossible to compromise with their differing plans, Killtendo split up, resulting in the project's ultimate cancellation. Since then, former members of the team have joined Fusion Thunder Games to help develop their next Sonic the Hedgehog related project, Sonic Peregrination.
The only thing known about the storyline for this game is that Dr. Eggman, the eternal arch-nemesis of Sonic the Hedgehog, found a way to create alternate, danger-filled dimensions with the Chaos Emeralds, and split them into two pieces each. Sonic and his friends, Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna and Amy Rose had to enter these dimensions and stop Dr. Eggman from fueling his latest superweapon, the Zoneduster, while fixing the Chaos Emeralds along the way through the Special Stages.
The game would've simply played like a Sonic the Hedgehog video game from the days of the Sega Genesis. No brand new features were ever announced, besides the possibility of Tails, Knuckles and Amy having their own elemental shield powers.
