Down special aerial Sonic, unlike other characters, has an extra move when he uses his down special in the air: the bounce attack. Sonic will pause in midair and bounce to the ground. The move travels all the way to the ground, so it can be a SD if he is over the edge, however, Sonic can still move horizontally and even grab ledges during the move. If he hits the ground or a grounded opponent, Sonic will bounce slightly off the ground where he is free to do other attacks or even use his up special again even if he already used it. If he hits a ground opponent, the opponent with bounce slightly off the ground and sometimes become stunned by the attack. If Sonic hits an air opponent, Sonic will bounce off the opponent, but the opponent will be smashed directly to the ground or off the screen. This is his meteor smash and is one of the most powerful meteor smashes when used on an aired opponent (though it has little KO power on ground ones). This move is great as a defense move or to use on numerous opponents and is a great move to recover from a possible star finish. 6%

Grabs and throws

Attack Description Damage
Grab Sonic reaches both hands out to grab. N/A
Pummel Sonic knees the opponent 1%
Forward throw Sonic kicks opponent diagonally forward. Good combo starter. Can chaingrab. 4%
Back throw Sonic does a back flip while holding the opponent and slams them on the ground, sending them backwards. 9%
Up throw Sonic throws opponent in the air, spinning below them, and does a final spin hit, knocking them upwards with good power. This throw can potentially KO light-weight opponents at around 100%. Can chain throw big characters and fast fallers. 7%
Down throw Sonic charges a Spin dash on the opponent. Allows for a lot great follow ups on the opponent. 7%

Other attacks

Attack Description Damage
Ledge attack Sonic climbs onto the stage and kicks forward with both legs. 7%
100% ledge attack Unknown. Unknown.
Floor attack Sonic does a kick similar to his forward tilt in appearance. Risky because it only attacks in front of him and leaves him vulnerable if the opponent is behind him. 8%

Special attacks

Special move Attack Description Damage
Neutral special Homing Attack Sonic, spins into a ball and homes in on the nearest enemy, doing decent knockback. Sonic's Homing Attack can be charged to increase accuracy and sends him in a downward arc. This move can be used in recovery to counterattack edge-guarders. 4%
Side special Light Dash Sonic stands still while saying: "Ready..." When Sonic charges the move in midair, the move slows your descent, and it leave you helpless after attacking. Sonic releases the move while yelling "Go!" and shoots diagonally upward in a way similar to Wolf Flash from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and gives the user two frames of invincibility. While charging the attack, Sonic will flash yellow, and after he is done charging the attack, he'll release it. 7%
Up special Spring Jump Sonic jumps off of a spring, launching himself into the air. When used in the air, the spring becomes a weak projectile that meteor smashes if it hits someone on the way down. Unlike many other up special moves, Sonic's does not leave him helpless, allowing him to attack immediately. This move, which acts as Sonic's recovery, provides decent vertical height. However, it provides mediocre horizontal recovery even when angled to the left or right. Also, after Sonic uses this move, he can't use any of his special attacks until he lands (except Bounce Attack). He also loses the ability to use his midair jump even when he uses the grounded version or when he doesn't use it while performing the move in the air. 5%

Down special Spin Dash Sonic's Spin Dash is fast, can be controlled well, can do jumps, and can change direction at will, which is required in order to keep his Spin Dash going. Sonic can also Bounce Attack, where Sonic curls into his ball form, rockets downwards, and strikes the ground with force, propelling him back into the air. If it comes in contact with an aerial opponent, it will be powerfully meteor smashed. However, it is dangerous to use off-stage because Sonic will not stop until he hits an opponent. Also, Sonic does not bounce off aerial opponents if the move connects with them, but he will be able to jump out of the animation and recover. Sonic can also grab ledges during the move. 4%

Final Smash Super Sonic Using the power of the Chaos Emeralds, Sonic transforms into a powerful being, making him stronger and faster. Super Sonic has infinite jumps and much faster then his normal form, and is nearly invincible. Super Sonic is one of the many Final Forms in the game, which means he is a completely different character who can move around with more powerful attacks. Due to this appearance. His transformation has a very small hitbox. and a decent amount of knockback. It is very small, only hitting if a target stands practically right next to Sonic as he transforms. Super Sonic also deals damage to opponents near him when he jumps and little knockback. Super Sonic has varying degrees of invincibility. 18%
