Smeargle is a Normal Pokémon introduced in Generation 2. It does not evolve into or from any other Pokémon and has no alternate forms.
Basic info[]
A beagle based Pokémon with a tail that it uses like a paintbrush, Smeargle can only ever learn the move Sketch legitimately. However, through Sketch, it's theoretically able to know every single move in the game except for Chatter, Struggle, and another instance of Sketch. As such, Smeargle actually sees serious usage in competitive battling despite how weak it is. It's generally relegated to the role of Baton Passer, racking up as many boosts as it can and then using Baton Pass to get out of there and pass on its boosts to a Pokémon that can actually use them.

Fanon appearances[]
St. Clair Publications[]
- Smeargle was a possible Poké-Ball Pokémon in Super Smash Stadium; however, it was retired. It appeared alongside Mario Paint.
- All canon Pokémon are available in Tropes vs. Women in Pokémon Training, including Smeargle. It's mostly unchanged from canon in this game, likely because it doesn't need to change.
