Sir Grodus is the main antagonist of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. He is the supreme leader of an extraterrestrial organization known as the Secret Society of X-Nauts, whose sole mission is to conquer the world. In order to achieve this goal, Grodus and his underlings intended to obtain the seven Crystal Stars, break the seal on the Thousand-Year Door, and use Princess Peach as a vessel for the spirit of the 1,000 year-old demon, the Shadow Queen. However, this plan ended up backfiring due to the intervention of Mario and his allies, as well as Grodus' inability to control the Shadow Queen, which resulted in nearly (if not) getting himself killed in the process.
Sir Grodus appears as one of the secondary antagonists of the first and last episodes of the game.
While Sir Grodus has not made an appearance as of yet, he was given at least two mentions throughout the story. In the third chapter, while Flurrie was accidentally squeezing Jr. Troopa too hard, Goombella compared the choking noise the latter made to Grodus' laugh, much to the amusement of Mario and Bobbery. In the very next chapter, Grodus was mentioned by Francis. Just as he was about to charge Bowser head-on, he used his Super Paper Mario battle cry, "Feel the wrath of the jilted X-Naut from the season finale of The Grodus Chronicles!"
