Simisear, known in Japan as バオッキー (Baokkie) is a Fire-type Pokémon from Unova. Pansear evolves into this Pokémon after being exposed to a Fire Stone. It is a red monkey with a fiery tuft of hair on its head. It also has white fluffy fur around its neck and on its shoulders. It's got a cream-colored muzzle, chest, fingers and toes.

As Pansear forms a trio with Pansage and Panpour, so does Simisear with the latter's evolved forms, Simisage and Simipour, respectively.

Trivia

Origin

Like Pansear, Simisear is based on a combination of a monkey and a flame. Though seeing the pattern on its belly and the steam-like fur around its neck may refer to active volcanoes.

Name Origin

Simisear is a combination of simian and to sear, to scorch. It is likely a play on the term "pan searing"

The name Baokkie is a combination of either 爆 bào (Chinese for burst/explode) or バースト bāsuto (burst), and monkey. It may or may not involve けっき kekki (vigor) as well.
