Simisage, known in Japan as ヤナッキー (Yanakkie) is a Grass-type Pokémon from Unova. Pansage evolves into this Pokémon after being exposed to a Leaf Stone. It is a green monkey with an enormous fir-like pompadour on its head. It also has white eyebrows and white fur on its shoulders. It's got a cream-colored face, abdomen, hands and feet. Its limbs are completely covered in green fur.
As Pansage forms a trio with Pansear and Panpour, so does Simisage with the latter's evolved forms, Simisear and Simipour, respectively.

Trivia[]
Origin[]
Like Pansage, Simisage is based on monkeys and trees. Because of this, it is either a visual pun on monkey trees or leaf monkeys. Its hairstyle is based on the bōsōzoku or yankee subcultures
Name Origin[]
Simisage is a combination of simian and sage. Due to it being a Grass Pokémon, the "sage" in its name likely refers to the Salvia officinalis, also known as the common sage.
The name Yanakkie is a combination of either 柳 yanagi (willow) or 野菜 yasai (vegetable), and monkey. It may or may not involve ヤンキー yankee (delinquent youth) and けっき kekki (vigor) as well.
