Sami makes her first appearance as a playable character to the Super Smash Bros. franchise in Super 5mash Bros. 5. Hailing from the Wars franchise, Sami is one of the Commanding Officers or "CO" ins the famed Orange Star Army. Her specialty lies within commanding infantry and mechs though she isn't fighting her own wars with her own weapons. She incorporates a unique system where she increases in levels based on how well she is doing within a match.
Sami is unique as they can be promoted within battle. Much like how Little Mac has her KO Uppercut Meter, Sami has the Promotion Meter above her stock icon. By scoring kills, dealing and taking damage, and avoiding being killed, she can score a star. Their indicates a Promotion which increases her stats and overall battle effectiveness. the list of Promotions are as followed:

Earning a promotion will boost all of her stats as well as additional knockback and launch resistance. In addition, the Colonel Promotion causes explosive splash damage to attacks from the rifle. If the player dies, the stars resent back to 0.
Sami relies are various weaponry such as rifles, bazookas, grenades, and knives making her strong at mid to far-range. the zero star level for the Sami is fairly weak and is vulnerable at the start of a match or when respawning after being KO'd.

|Down Tilt||Laying Low||1%, 1.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%, 5%||Sami lays down on the ground and fires a single shot from her rifle. the attack stays very low to the ground and can dodge various attacks and projectiles. they begin to travel further at the 4th level.|
|Dash Attack||Combat Knife||4%, 4.5%, 5%, 5.5%, 6%, 7%||Sami dashes slightly forward while slashing with her combat knife. It has a small and quick hitbox but it does knockback when it actually connects.|
|Forward Smash||Precision Fire||8%-12%, 8.5-12.5%, 10-15%, 10.5-16%, 11-17%, 12-18%||Sami uses a precision modifier on her gun which will not cause the gun to have any recoil. In addition, it has a slight explosion effect for every promotion; even the Sami. It has higher knockback than the other rifle attacks.|
|Up Smash||Mortar||12%-18%, 12.5-18.5%, 11-19%, 11.5-20%, 13-21%, 14-22%||Sami pulls out a mortar, places the shell inside, and launches it into the air. It will explode at a certain height instead of returning back down. It resembles Snake's Up Smash from Super Smash Bros. Brawl though it has a slightly larger blast radius.|
|Down Smash||Flamethrower||1.5-2% (loop), 2.5-3% (loop), 3.5-4% (loop), 4.5-5% (loop), 5.5-6% (loop), 6.5-7% (loop)||Sami pulls out a flamethrower and ignites it while maneuvering it from a downward to an upward position. the attack is longer at the lower Promotion level than the higher promotion level but it does more damage. It has a good reach and a great defense move.|
|Neutral Aerial||High Impact Shot||2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, 7%, 8%||Sami fires a high-impact shot that does moderate damage but high knockback it the attack connects with the opponent. It is aimed downwards and has a good traveling distance.|

|Up Aerial||Aerial Flamethrower||5%, 5.5%, 6%, 6.5%, 7%, 9%||Sami fires a blast of fire from the flamethrower that, instead of doing loop damage, launches the opponent. It takes the form of a moderate sized fireball. It has less range than the Down Smash but it expands its hit box in the later animations.|
|Down Aerial||Potato Masher||7%, 7.5%, 8%, 9%, 10%, 12%||A powerful down aerial. Sami lobs a potato masher grenade which will descend downwards and then explode; dealing high damage with a wide blast radius. the attack actually does two hits, the impact from the grenade and the subsequent explosion.|
|Grab||---||---||Sami grabs the opponent with both hands.|
|Pummel||Rifle Butt||2%, 2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%, 4.5%||A slow but powerful pummel where the Sami slams the rifle butt into the opponent.|
|Forward Throw||Crushing Blow||4%, 5%, 6.5%, 6%, 6.5%, 7%||A good throw where the Sami jumps into the air and slams down; spiking the opponent upwards.|
|Back Throw||Nights Out||2%, 2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%, 5%||Sami takes the opponent and swings them around and then rifle butts them in the head; knocking them forward.|
|Up Throw||Mortar Launch||6%, 6.5%, 7%, 7.5%, 8%, 8.5%||A powerful throw but slow. Sami takes a mortar and launches it which causes the opponent to be launched as well. It then explodes launching the opponent away.|
|Down Throw||Booby Trap||6%, 7%, 8%, 9%, 10%, 12%||The most damaging throw. Sami places a grenade in the opponent which causes it to explode three seconds later. Sami must get away or risk getting damaged from the explosion.|
|Floor Attack (front/back)||Shoulder Press||2%, 2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 5%, 6%||Sami pushes upwards and slams her shoulder into the opponent. A not so powerful but quick floor attack.|
|Floor Attack (trip)||Rifle Butt||2%, 2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%, 4.5%||Sami takes her rifle and strikes forward; hitting opponents backwards.|
|Edge Attack||Leaping Shot||2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%, 4.5%, 5%||Sami jumps over the ledge and shoots the opponent once; knocking them backwards slightly.|
Special Custom Set A
|Neutral Special||Grenade||8%, 9%, 10%, 11%, 12%, 13%||Sami can cook the grenade by holding down the special button and then toss it. Holding it down increases the length of the throw but decreases the time between throwing and detonation. It will only explode if it hits an opponent or runs out of time.|
|Custom 1||Phosphorus Grenade||3%, 4%, 5%, 6%, 7%, 8%||Instead of creating a huge explosion, it releases a heat wave that does damage on top of 1% loop damage for all promotions as the opponent burns.|
|Custom 2||Smoke Grenade||0%||It doesn't deal damage but causes smoke to pour out thus obstructing vision. the higher the promotion, the longer the smoke will remain on the battlefield.|
|Side Special||Tank||10%, 11%, 12%, 13%, 15%, 18%||Sami releases a small Tank that resembles from the older Wars series. It will travel forward and fire explosive shells at opponents. It can be destroyed by other attacks or it can fall off the ledge. It will fire between 4-5 shots before vanishing. It is unable to change directions.|
|Custom 1||Fighter Plane||1.5%, 2%, 2.5%, 3%, 3.5%, 4%||Releases a Wars fighter plane that will fire constant ammo from its guns at opponents that does loop damage. Much like the tank, it can be destroyed. It will stay flying in a single direction for up to six seconds.|
|Custom 2||Booby Trapped Recon||14%, 15%, 16%, 17%, 18%, 19%||Instead of it dealing damage as it travels, it will move about the stage and can change directions. Once it comes into contact with an opponent or reaches a timer, it will explode.|
|Up Special||Transport Copter||0%||Sami calls for a Transport Copter which then appears where Sami was. the player can then control where the copter will travel to at a limited time. It doesn't do any type of damage but has great recovery distance. Hitting the copter with strong attacks can cause it to vanish and causing Sami to enter into a free fall. Higher promotions allow the copter to stay in flight longer,|
|Custom 1||Assault Transport Copter||1%, 1.5%, 2%, 3.5%, 3%, 3.5%||The copters blades deal loop damage while knocking opponents upwards. It has less traveling time compared to the default.|
|Custom 2||Ejecting Copter||6%, 7%, 8%, 9%, 10%, 11%||It has less traveling time and control than the default but at the end of animation, it will launch Sami downwards but not as a free fall state. If Sami hits an airborne opponent while in the attacking animations, it will meteor them.|
|Down Special||Gatling Gun||2%, 2.5%, 3.5%, 4%, 4.5%, 5%||Sami pulls out a Gatling Gun and fires it. Holding down the special button continue the attack but will slowly push Sami backwards as well as pushing the aim slightly upwards. It does smaller damage but the hits come out much quicker.|
|Custom 1||Unnerved Gatling Gun||3%, 3.5%, 4%, 4.5%, 5%, 5.5%||Inputting the attack causes Sami to pull out the Gatling Gun. However, it is impossible to cancel the attack like the default. Sami will fire it from a downward angle and aim it upwards. It still pushes Sami back a bit|
|Custom 2||Explosive Gatling Gun||5%, 6%, 5%, 5%, 5%, 6.5%||It does much more damage than the default and produces tiny explosions that have wide hit boxes. As a consequence, it is slower than the default and pushes Sami back even further.|
Special Custom Set B
|Neutral Special||Grunt||2%||Sami summons a Grunt that is half the size of her. It proceeds to walk along the ground and will fire upon the opponent. It can only fire in a direct line and does hit stun but doesn't do any damage. It can fire up to 8 shots before vanishing, last around 10 seconds, or be damaged. Sami is unable to attack the Grunt.|
|Custom 1||Rocket Grunt||6%||Much like the default but slower. It fires rockets form its rocket launcher that does knockback and damage. It can only fire three rockets before vanishing though.|
|Custom 2||Sniper Grunt||4%||Can fire from a long range that does consistent damage. It can fire up to 5 shots before vanishing. It is weaker than the Grunt.|
|Side Special||Combat Roll||3% (hit), 7% (cut), 4% (kick)||Sami rolls jumps and rolls forward. The attack will only do damage at the end portion of the roll where Sami catches the opponent. She will then twist around them, cut them with her knife, and then kick them away, doing launch damage. It can be used as a recovery move but will force Sami into a helpless state if she misses while in the air.|
|Custom 1||Guaranteed Combat Roll||2%, 5%, 3%||It does significantly less damage but it can connects at any time; not just the ending of the attack. It also does reduced knockback. On the plus side, the attack comes out faster and has higher speed.|
|Custom 2||Striking Combat Roll||3.2% (loop), 6%||Sami will roll forward; pushing the opponent back with hit stun before slashing with her knife. It has better recovery distance than the default but deals less damage and knockback either attacks.|
|Up Special||Parachute||0%||Sami pulls out a parachute and floats to the stage. If performed while in the air, she will jump into the air and then slowly float back down to earth. Tilting the control allows Sami to have a little influence to where she glides to.|
|Custom 1||Propelled Parachute||0%||It has greatly enhanced floating abilities with more control where Sami will float to. It also propels Sami even further into the air at the start up.|
|Custom 2||Attack Chute||4% (launch), 2% (parachute)||Unlike the default, Sami will launch into the sky regardless if she is on the ground or not. Launching into the sky also launches the opponent along with her. She then pulls out the parachute and the parachute is capable of dealing 2% damage and hitstun.|
|Down Special||Mine||15%||Sami buries a mine into the ground on the platform. When an opponent walks on top of it, it explodes causing damage and vertical knockback. It can also cause Sami to have damage if she happens ot step on top of it as well. If Sami performs this attack in midair, the mine will simply fall to the ground and then explode; regardless if it connects with an opponent. If Sami tries to bury more than one mine, the previous one explodes.|
|Custom 1||Incendiary Mine||2% (loop)||Acts much like the default but, instead, it burns the opponent with loop fire damage and hitstun. However, it doesn't do any knockback.|
|Custom 2||Burial Mine||0%||Instead of exploding, it will act like a Pitfall Seed and bury the opponent. It won't deal any damage but it has a longer burying duration than the actual Pitfall Seed. Putting it on a passable platform knocks the opponent downwards.|
|Final Smash 1||Double Time||Varies||Sami summons various infantry, mechs, tanks, and airplanes which travel about the stage. Sami stands in the middle of the stage and blows her whistle. The whistle increases the damage, speed, and range of the projectiles while the Final Smash is active. The units can be destroyed and they will not reappear when destroyed thus lowering the overall damage output.|
|Final Smash 2||Orange Star Army||Varies||Sami pulls out a transmitter which ejects a radio wave. Any opponent that is caught within the radio waves are transported to a battlefield. Sami fires down on the opponent with a machine gun while Max appears and fires tank shells at the opponent which causes explosions. Both Nell and Rachel fires missiles from behind them which takes off into the air and crashes down; dealing even more damage. Andy then appears from above and crashes down onto the opponent slamming his large wrench into the opponent dealing high damage. It returns the scene to normal and launches the captured opponents into the air.|

Character Selection Screen
- Sami takes her gun and holds it up and says "I will press on!"
- Sami punches forward with her combat knife and says "Sorry but you're no match!".
- Sami pumps her arm upwards and says "This is the power of my army!"
On Screen Appearance
- Arrives via parachute and floats onto the stage.
- Sami does a dive roll from the left and then enters into a kneeling positions; cocking her gun an dlooking to the right and to the left.
- Arrives on a motorycle while doing a wheelie and jumps off.
- Sami shoots upwards and says "I am no stranger to the battlefield!"
- Sami punches both hands together while holding the combat knife in one hand and says "You should of just surrendered!"
- Sami cocks her machine gun and points it up to the air and turns around as if to walk away. She then turns her head to the side and says "Well, that was pathetic.".
- Sami kneels on the ground while tapping on her ear piece saying "Orange Star HQ. Come in. Victory complete!"
- Sami parachutes in, drops, and lands in a crouching positions while saying "Infiltration is a success!"
- Sami appears alongside Andy, Max, Nell, and Rachel as they celebrate by pumping thier fists into the air.
Male/female cheer "SAMI VICTORY!! SAMI VICTORY!!!"
- Sami frowns while looking forward and clapping her hands.
- Sami shuffles back and forth in a daze while holding her forehead.
- Sami has her eyes closed and is gritting her teeth in anger.

Sami has both hands on her rifle and is slightly bent forward, She bends her knees rapidly in an almost agitated pose.
- Sami taps the barrel of her gun.
- Sami dusts off her pants.
- Sami pushes on her shoulder.
- Sami raises her gun slightly and then lowers it again.
Sami crouches downwards; placing one knee on the ground while the other one is propped up. She still retains both hands on the rifle.
Sami crawls along the ground using both arms to bring her self along the ground.
Sami jumps up into the while holding her rifle.
Sami rolls along the ground while still holding onto her rifle and then returns back to normal.
Sami walks forward at an average pace while holding onto the gun with both hands.
Sami runs forward while leaning forward slightly in a almost ducked position. This dash attack gives her reduced height making her less of a target.
Sami lays down on her back with hands held backward and her torso slightly turned,
Sami trips and lands on her butt.
Sami balances on both legs while using one arm to try and balance herself while the other holds onto her rifle.
Lets go of one hand on her rifle and swings the bat forward.

Sami falls full body into the screen with both hands held up with a grimacing look on her faces and her eyes closed. She still holds the rifle in one hand.
