SQUARED is a platformer by ICU. It was released for GBA in late 2005.

Gameplay

You play as a robotic square called SQ-UA-RE. Its purpose is to test artficial intelligences, but it gets a mind of its own before long. It tries to escape the virtual reality created by the scientists who created SQ-UA-RE.

Other than that, it's just another platformer. Jump, run, and walk.

Ratings

The game received favourable ratings from most magazines. ICN gave it a 9.5/10, praising its art style and atmosphere.

Sequel

Main article: CUBED

SQUARED had a 3D sequel, CUBED. It was made for the 3DS and bundled with SQUARED Anniversary Edition. This was due to the 8-year anniversary of SQUARED. It also included a multiplayer mode, which was absent from the original game. It's only in 2D, though.
