SEGA Fighter is a crossover fighting game to be released on the Nintendo Wii U, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo 3DS as part of the SEGA All-Stars / SEGA Superstars series with a PC port to be launched later on. Currently, it is under development by SEGA in conjunction with Capcom and is set for release in 2017. The game features various SEGA franchises, including the popular Sonic the Hedgehog series and the former mascot series Alex Kidd, and representatives from those series duking it out across a variety of landscapes inspired by their games.
SEGA Fighter will have characters people recognize from their childhoods like Sonic and Ristar battling against unfamiliar characters including Pulseman and Kid Chameleon and guest characters including Bayonetta and Jack Cayman. While the game may seem like a Smash clone, some of the gameplay elements take inspiration from Capcom's fighting games.
|Sonic the Hedgehog||
Sonic the Hedgehog
(1991, Arcade; first non-playable appearance)
(June 1991, SEGA Genesis; first true appearance)
Also known as SEGA's current mascot and the quickest hedgehog around, Sonic the Hedgehog is the heroic, rash hedgehog who has a strong sense of justice and is quick both in thought and on his feet.
Sonic is a mostly balanced character except in one area - speed. He is fast as he was in Super Smash Bros. 4 and no faster as that would make him overpowered. His abilities come from his various games, including his trademark Spin Dash and Homing Attack abilities.

|Sketch Turner||Comix Zone||
Sketch Turner was once a "starving artist" and freelance musician from New York City, along with being the creator of the comic series "Comix Zone". That was until one fateful night (quite literally), a bolt of lightning struck his comic and brought the main villain Mortus to life. Mortus warped both Sketch and his pet rat Roadkill into the comic, drawing up baddies and other things for the artist to fight.
Sketch has a very diverse fighting style, mostly revolving around creating paper objects to send towards enemies and occassionally having Roadkill nibble on the opponents near him. It gives him both proper defensive and offensive capabilities, but with the risk of losing health during some of the larger attacks.

Mega Man (1987, Nintendo Entertainment System; developed by Capcom)
It was announced there will be version exclusive characters, with two characters for each version. Almost all versions of the game have a character from a third-party franchise that belongs to the creator of that platform.
|Mario||Super Mario Bros.
Mario Bros. (1983, Arcade)
Mario is the rotund, Italian plumber who hails from Brooklyn, New York and uses many power-ups, items, et cetera alongside his brother, Luigi. However, despite these qualities, Mario is Sonic's rival and vice versa as the two were created around the same time but he does not share the same powers.
Mario's fighting style is similar to his appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series as well as taking inspiration from his own games. He is a balanced character in every area and can perform some pretty powerful combos if the player uses him correctly.
